Hi there! I'm looking for an immersive week or long weekend shooting clays in Europe, ideally with some level of instruction to improve my skills.

I was thinking either in Portugal or Greece to hopefully save on some money, however I'm open to anything; Spain, Albania - anywhere it's going to be good & recommended.

I'm a kiwi who grew up shooting clays and ducks, however I'd only class myself as a medium level shot.

Any help and suggestions are extremely welcome!

Cheers

I have shot in Cyprus, it was excellent. I did hire a car because the grounds were in the mountains area. They had Beretta club guns. Excellent air conditioning in the clubhouse and lovely food too.

At which club ?

If you end up in Spain, I cannot recommend de 'Club de Tiro Jarapalo' enough. (See: https://jarapalo.com/ ) Close to Malaga, maybe a tad closer to Torremolinos still. Good way to combine beachfront and still get your fill of shooting overlooking the landscape down from the mountains to the sea. I've only been once, but was made to feel very welcome after giving them a call. At the time I hadn't planned to do any shooting and only rang them after a tip I got in a local bar, but was invited for lessons on a day they werent even officially open. They set up an adjustable club gun for me and I spent the day shooting with a pro until beer'o'clock. Absolutely amazing place.

Another vote for Jarapalo , although for U.K. based shooters it’s not as convenient now as when we had the EFP. Some years since I shot there , but the staff were very helpful . The sporting was limited to 5 stand , and we didn’t need the instructor as we rented guns on the strength of the EFP , but the climate and blue skies were fabulous .. definitely need a hire car though ,

One thing we don’t know is whether the O.P. is resident in his native New Zealand or in the U.K. or the rest of Europe ? .
If they are U.K. resident at the moment I’d suggest the total cost of travelling to southern Europe , car rental , gun hire and tuition would not be much of a saving , if any against for example a long weekend in North Yorkshire staying in a country house hotel and shooting at at somewhere like EJC Swinton Estate and having a few world class tuition sessions from the best on a fantastic layout .
