Its a cosy cartel, they will all stick together, lets see what the other manufacturers do.
We haven't received a new price list from Eley (Orston). It may be in the post to us, I'll let you know if one arrives.I have been informed that a well known gun shop in Yorkshire has increased prices yet again. Now charging £291 for Olympic blues. Anyone else noticed a price rise in The Eley range

Depends on whether the pay rises are expected due to inflation alone. Businesses push very, very hard too minimise pay increases with the recent austerity years and due to the power dynamics they have been very successful at keeping pay well below inflation. Also most good companies accept that to retain and generally keep people motivated, its beneficial to reward in line with the value that they bring add through experience and training etc.All through my long and varied working life, every single person in every single industry has wanted a pay rise every single year. That probably applies to those on here.
Yes, but my main point was that everyone everywhere always wants a pay increase. But nobody wants a cost increase.Depends on whether the pay rises are expected due to inflation alone. I’m sure that many employees in cartridge manufacturing have had pay rises over the years. There’s no reason to suspect they are any different to any other industries. Yes, employers try to restrict pay increases, but it’s a simple cost excercise. If costs increase, either prices increase or profits reduce; neither are desirable. In many industries the customers demand yearly price reductions, which makes it a double whammy.Everybody wants a pay rise but not everyone gets one. My experience is that employers use all sorts of excuses (such as the recent NI increase) to avoid paying one until you move jobs and find out the real salary you should have been paid. I would be interested to know if the cartridge manufacturers have given their staff pay rises but I’m sure we won't find out.
1000 cartridge at £180 in 2014 should be £244 assuming the Bank of England inflation calculator is correct yet the increase over that period is double that. There maybe reasons but if my use of the internet is correct, lead is cheaper.
In terms of a cartel, I'm sure they don't meet in dark rooms but they do put their prices up at the same time which suggests some coordination.
