    I got a pass

I am relativity new to the sport, been shooting a 2-3 years now... I'm still using my "starter gun" which is a Franchi Alcione one which I do really get on with tbh but I just want a bit of an upgrade, I'm not expecting a new gun to improve my shooting that will come with experience I know I've...

    I got a pass

OK so the missus has given me permission to spend money and I want a new gun. I had a grope of someones new Benelli 828u o/u at the week end and I must say I really liked the way it felt and looks, it fell into the shoulder lovely, was really well balanced and unbelievably light and I think...

    Shotgun Stolen!

yeah I saw this yesterday on the news..........What a tit, I wont leave my guns unattended in the middle of a field where you can see all around you, why would you leave them unattended in a street in the middle of london?

    sporting mathematics

OP was talking about crossers but same maths apply in any direction apart from the perceived lead, as above its not taking into account drop off etc. it also assumes you are shooting where you are pointing and 1000fps is already subsonic anything over 1126fps is breaking the sound barrier

    sporting mathematics

not sure it would make much difference as to whether the gun was still or swinging because once you have pulled the trigger the shot will be moving in pretty straight  trajectory from the moment it leaves the barrel.... that said it certainly doesn't take into account drop off i.e the effect of...

    There is no 'Magic' Gun

I'm defiantly no expert...... but in the 5-6 years I have been shooting I have come to notice that everyone is "right" on what the correct gun fit and stance etc. should be. I say that because everyone has built there own opinion on the thing that works for them and that's "how it should be...

If man wasn't curious we'd still be hunting antelope with sticks on the plains of Africa

    sporting mathematics

to keep it simple for my own sake a clay doing 40 mph is traveling at 58.6 fps and shot string traveling at 1000fps will take 0.1second to travel 100 feet... 100 feet is about 33 yards so in that 0.1 seconds the clay will have traveled 5.86 feet assuming the clay is 33 yards out...you will...

    Its here!

one thing that can be said about colour case hardening is that you wont ever get two guns the same, making your gun completely unique, which when you are having one built for you is a massive bonus

    Ford (west sussex)

thanks for the info, some of the shoots I am aware of and Goodwood is ok but I found it an odd atmosphere there if I'm honest I was attempting to help out the guys who ran the Ford shoot find some land to start up again because they did such a good job of setting up a friendly little club. its...

    Ford (west sussex)

anyone on here shoot at Ford? its a really small shoot held on the 3rd sunday of the month at the end of the airfield only 5-6 traps but its run by two really good guys who bent over backwards for everyone there, it was more a labor of love than a money making effort, it was a regular shoot for...

    sonic ear plugs

yeah just as well as foam plugs in my opinion, I'm sure they aren't as good as a decent set of defenders but some of them go for silly money and I find defenders just get in the way

    sonic ear plugs

i use a set of acu-life sonic II ear plugs cheap and cheerful, I find they are comfortable and good because you can hear your shooting buddies talking better but my only gripe with them is on a windy day they tend to be a bit noisy due to the wind blowing across the little hole in the end of...

    Quick question for the ladies

i may be wrong but..... don't alot of female shooters tend to have the comb raised a little because they tend to be longer from shoulder pocket to cheek than men, plus have the toe rounded because it tends to dig in the chest for obvious reasons?

    Fibre or plastic

not all grounds insist on fiber wads certainly not locally to me anyway but some do..... plastic wads are better in general and cheaper, they seem to be a bit cleaner from my experience and pattern better (so I'm told) I  get both as simbo said "plastic where you can, fiber where you cant"

    shotcam.

saw one of these going cheap on ebay a few months back, put a bid in and someone just bought it outright...... i was kicking myself if memory serves me right i think it only went for about £250, i thought i was being sneaky and bidding low to keep the price down and someone just went " thank...
