    Another gun choice - I can't decide!

Shame the LH F3 Pro doesn't have 32-inch barrels, that would be perfect.

Sporting shoots. Where - and how did it go?

Shot the Jack Pyke Open at Sporting Targets yesterday, much more enjoyable than the Premier League shoot. Finished on 111 which was enough to finish 13th, nice little goody-bag for every shooter as well.

Sporting shoots. Where - and how did it go?

Sensible move avoiding Court Farm, I stopped off on the way back from Barrow Heath (which was a very enjoyable shoot) and not only was Court Farm disappointing but it took me 2 hours to get back from there to Basingstoke due to a smash on the A3 around Guildford.   Same old targets (edge on...

Sporting shoots. Where - and how did it go?

That was intensely hot at Owls today.  Really enjoyable shoot, finished on 86 which I was happy with as I've not been going well recently.   I was there first thing and thankfully done by 11.30 as it was getting very warm.

FSB / Nick Penn - Shooting both eyes open.

Based on the video, I certainly won't be cancelling our appointment next month Mr Lyons.

Has The World of Clayshooting Gone Mad?

I watched someone miss 6 on one stand in the Hampshire one last year and magically managed to shoot 65/70

Sporting shoots. Where - and how did it go?

It's a shame Doug as I'm up there quite a bit with Ed for coaching and practice and the targets are much better when it's non-competition.   They probably didn't use half the ground yesterday.

Sporting shoots. Where - and how did it go?

There was far too much going on there yesterday.

    Clay shooting classic

I shot this today, really enjoyed it, all run really well with only a few no-birds between us and barely any waiting around between stands. Shoot of two halves for me; 54/75 on the valley which was definitely the tougher of the 2 courses, and 68/75 on the lanes which I was really pleased with...

Do you use the same cartridge for everything?

    DTL Elites 7.5 for everything.

Sporting shoots. Where - and how did it go?

Shot AGL yesterday morning into early afternoon, 97 on the sporting and 22 on the sportrap, missed an entire pair. Good shoot and was only my 2nd visit to the ground.   Came unstuck on 13 with that fast L-R dropping crosser followed by the lower quartering L-R, dropped five in there then...

    EJC 4th May 100ESP Reg

Just an odd target; 70mm clay being thrown as a very slow crosser, I was definitely in front of it.  In hindsight I should have shot almost straight at it.

How far back did you get?

strange things are happening (re-seeing lead)

Massive eye opener as to how comfortably you can break a target at what most people would think is an impossible range.   Just goes to show how good though our guns and cartridges are these days; 24g 7.5 through 1/4 choke got the best break at 90 yards?

strange things are happening (re-seeing lead)

I've spent the last couple of years shooting, and a fair amount of cartridges in building up a memory bank of sight pictures (and I'm still adding to it) by shooting a lot of maintained lead on everything apart from a couple of target types. I can't see how anyone can be consistent to a decent...

    I've just got a new one ?

Sporting shoots. Where - and how did it go?

In hindsight I think it needed rifling quite early, I was probably in front of it.  I'm left handed and wanted to kill the first target as quickly as possible and I should have had let it come across me a little bit more in order to get on the rabbit a bit quicker. Enjoy your day with Ed next...

Sporting shoots. Where - and how did it go?

I've had three great days of shooting, all in fantastic weather.  Started at EJ Churchill's on Thursday with their monthly registered where I shot a steady 87.  No targets that needed a huge amount of lead but a good mix of tricky angles. Then from there a drive up to Bedford for an overnight...
