I was told that all Specsavers glasses are shatterproof glass. I reasoned that with my prescription the lenses are fairly thick too, so whilst not being totally safe from being shot in the face, I was probably pretty safe from the usual bits of flying clay.

I certainly had no issues with a drilled hole through the kickeez on my Perazzi. After a few years, I did have an issue with the kickeez, because over time they become more and more bouncy. Binned it and discovered ISIS green pad, which I suggest you go to straight away.

I shot Honesberie, Oxford champs yesterday. Three fairly easy stands to start with (so really cross when I sloppily missed two on stand 3). The rest of the course was somewhere between tricky and very tough. Finished on 85, HG was 93.

Never shot Garlands, but Steve Lovatt always put on stuff you can see.

Yeah sure. Swing through is a wide term. I just think more of a speed match on longer targets is sensible.

EJC today and it was a step up. Course setter just seemed to have had 3 Weetabix. Plenty of targets to really test you and only about three steady stands. Course average is 68 as I write. I tripped up badly on two or three targets but held a lot of the rest together for 86. Felt like I worked...

Lots of good cartridges out there. You need to figure if you must shoot fibre wads, or can / wish to shoot plas wads, which are cheaper and better, where allowed. Realistically it’s all about what is available in your local shop. I would probably go with 24g to start with as a good middle...
