Point to note, the 8s in the superb I measured were an 8.5 shot.  The 7.5s were closer to an 8. That's after roughly measuring about 50 in each shell. They both break well, but in my perazzi the 7.5s do the business.

Stick in a Bior type shell.  When its that close, it opens up a couple of choke sizes instead of twiddling.  But don't think that you'll get a 2ft spread out of it! 

You know that fu......Messing about too much misses clays!...Thats what you really know! If it ain't broken.......don't fix it!

Very interesting I thought.  Mind you, you need to check how your gun patterns.  I now prefer to change shells (I shoot Sporting) instead of chokes because different shells give several chokes difference.

Thanks for the above. I lost my choke box recently and had to use Light Full + Full in my perazzi.  My breaks have been awful for a couple of weeks now.  I love the Fiocchi range.  Smooth consistent/hard hitting.   However I needed a 'fix'.  I shot some Clever, Power Golds, Huls, & Superbs...

Shot these for the first time at the weekend.  Very smooth, VERY hard hitting.   Anybody shot the latest offerings from Eley?  Anybody shot the Superb Golds or VIP Traps or the Titanium Shells? I've been shooting Fiocchi for a looooong time and they are great.  I like those superbs though. A lot!

A certain UK manufacturer when opening up their 7.5 premium shell  had shot in between 6 and 8.5. All on the same shell!

Both Great guns.  Beware the unreliability of the 725.  The inertia trigger needs quite a bit of maintenance.  2 of my AAA friends have 2 Pro-traps each.  The regular gun and a back up.  They send their guns back on average once a year with trigger problems.  Oh and the bluing is sh1te too. ...

Get a gun fitted to you.  It will benefit you from early on.  As you get to learn where the gun shoots relative to your eye, a good gun fit helps eliminate idiosyncrasies in mounting. I'd wholeheartedly recommend it, even though that does not singularly put clays on the card.  Good technique...
