    Alternative to Cast

Well if its a to you to me issue... the stock in question was made for someone... without the need for cast. Cast is not a twist in the stock it is a way the stock is made leaving wood where it is required and none where its not needed. If I need a stock with 5mm of cast at the heal and none at...

    Alternative to Cast

Sorry but no. If, and it may be a remote possibility I don't know, there may be no need for cast at the toe?

    Alternative to Cast

Depends how you view that statement. If the comb is moved either way the gun has cast... it may not be cast at the toe but it will be cast at the heal. The gun does not have to have cast at the toe to have cast.

    Alternative to Cast

Maybe but an adjustable comb can account for a straight when a degree of offset is required to place the shooters eye over the center of the rib while the gun is in a shoot-able mounting position. The thing we are not told here is does the stock need cast in ref to heal , toe  or both? Kreighoff...

In general a L - R target would be considered a harder target for a right handed handed trap shooter because of the tendency to pull the gun off the face where as with a left hander you are pulling the gun onto the face.

Lloyd I shoot trap and so things are a bit different I am trying to be in position to hit two extreme targets but for me you feet are just slightly too favouring a left handed target ?... but if you already know the target is left handed then it is probably quite correct   I see you have...

Lloyd I don't understand your foot position really. If you are left handed then you should be shooting off your right foot not your left. Going by the pictures the one that gets closest to that is the second picture. I must be missing something otherwise your weight distribution is wrong. I am...

Well of course I don't shoot sporting targets so I cannot really comment but as a general observation all will work depending on where you are going to shoot the target... but more importantly from my point of view how many possible targets you could get. With that in mind I would go with foot...

I think that is fine if you have time to do that. If you tried to do that in OT for example where you could be faced with a possible 45 degree right or left target it is not possible to try to compensate for incorrect foot position in the way you suggest, surely the same applies on an on report...

Foot position is important! It determines just how much swing you have from one side to another, very important if you have two targets different and don't know which one you are going to get, or for sport shooters a pair of targets that are crossing. If your feet are only right for one of the...

The number of times I have been told you are behind, in front , below, above or combinations. In my opinion that is what a shotkam does... what I want to know is why? I reckon a good coach will be able to tell you that but I doubt a shotkam will. I may be wrong I have never used one and really...

More than 10lbs is heavy for a trap gun is it not? Most Olympic trap guns are around 4kg any particular reason you like your gun that heavy or are you just a Geoff Capes type

    Patterning....

Re the eye sight I don't think so I had a full eye check at the hospital last month and the eye surgeon said they were good for an old git   I have a very minor prescription for distance and reading. There is something that has happened though and that is I have a slight shoulder injury...

    Patterning....

OK so the long lay off has had quite an effect on my shooting... negatively  So I have never checked the patterns or POI of my gun on the plate and am now thinking it may be a good idea to do so. My thinking is that it may at least give me confidence that my gun is shooting in the right...

Jan... not that I am about to buy one, but how does the fitting of the actual device affect the dynamic of the gun? I have often thought ... what a minute if was to strap a weight onto the bottom barrel of my gun and shot it people would immediately tell me that will change the gun considerably...

    What does "Marmite Gun" mean?

Which would have been fine if "acclimated" was the word she used... I don't think acclimatated is a word recognized by any English dictionaries.

    What does "Marmite Gun" mean?

I am not picking sides in this linguistic dispute, but I overheard a great new word when on holiday in the US. We were in the Rocky mountains so at a bit of altitude . Anyway this young girl was praising her mother for how well she had "acclimatated" to the increase in altitude. However when it...

    DTL question

You still get a "flambe" on the first round of each day for FU . I think it is a sensible idea to be honest it lets the shooter know that their safety is not on and their gun is functioning properly. I actually lost my right to flambe at a round of the worlds... still had the safety on! I have...
