    Blimey, that’s good

They say you either have it or you don't... this guy has been given quite a few peoples "have it" a bit like Michael Diamond in that respect.

    More lead, more dead

I know this is thread drift but if you think about it  industries can cause any amount of pollution in real terms but hobbyists shooting a few rounds of what ever with lead shot are the ones causing the problems... if ever you wanted to highlight deflection and spin there it is right there🤣 We...

    More lead, more dead

I know that you shoot trap and will be aware that in the case of trap shooting the shot can be caught by fine screens erected at the far front of the shooting area. I don't know if it would carry any weight but ground that had this could legitimately say they do not have a lead pollution problem...

    More lead, more dead

I could see a barn type structure working for some newly devised disciplines but I doubt that it is really practical for established shooting disciplines like UT and OT where targets are live until they hit the ground and they require to travel a minimum of 76m. I am not saying that the required...

    More lead, more dead

To be fair we have seen several new and very young shooters at the club I shoot at👍

    More lead, more dead

Of course I shoot abroad but if we take a look at what can be done out doors there is reason to believe it is possible to create sufficiently controlled shooting environments where lead can be used. For example if we look at Italy, chosen because I have shot at the grounds but there will be...

    More lead, more dead

Why on gods good earth would I want to spend a huge amounts of cash on a gun to replace what is arguably the best clay target shooting gun ever made ? Add to that I am fast approaching the point where I need glasses to see the targets ... nope when lead goes I'll stop. If you think about it...

Fine if your gun is proofed for steel! It may be that my Perazzi could use steel shot cartridges but it is an old gun and not proofed for steel.

If or when steel shot becomes compulsory I will stopping shooting .

    RIO Star Team EVO

Excellent cartridges made in Spain I have used them to good effect on FO and FU targets. I use them in a 7.5 size which is 2.4 mm  an 8 would be 2.2mm .

    Rules are maybe for Fools

Neither eye or hearing protection appear to be mandatory in ISSF sanctioned events although all participants are strongly urges to use protection??

    trigger freeze?

Not long after I started shooting I suffered that problem. In my case I think it was down to tiredness caused by shooting too many rounds too quickly. It was usually a target that had got away from me a little bit and almost as though my brain was overriding my desire to trigger the shot. A sort...

    Another price increase

It is very difficult to engage in a thread like this without saying... this is what was voted for! Although I will never accept that 52% vs 48% is sufficient grounds to extract a country from an extremely complex economic union the message from me a remainer is suck it up this is just one of...

    Another price increase

So what we are seeing is a not unexpected cartridge manufacturing industry taking advantage of positive market conditions? Seems a sensible thing to do after all there would be no point in them increasing prices of a product that has no buyers?
  16. jwpzx9r

    Another price increase

Is it the price of lead that is driving the prices of cartridges up ? Could it be oil prices transferring through into transport and plastic costs ? What is evident is that there will be a tipping point at which point fewer cartridges will be sold and that will in itself create pricing issues...

    Another price increase

I don't know anybody who shoots that would really be effected by a 10% increase on a price of €250 which an expensive cartridge here if like me you shoot 125- 130 cartridges on 100 trap targets an average weekend it is only  €3.25 now I have to say that shooting has never at any time been a...

Coaching from a multiple world champion (a real one)

I disagree UT is a world championship event shot by entrants from all over the globe... some shooters who are ISSF entries shoot it too ...  As to Mr Diamond, one of the greatest ever shooters, I would be grateful just to meet and speak with him never mind get a coaching session from him!  He...

    ABT history

UT is a cheap and , in terms of targets shot, fair trap format. It is shot using five traps rather than 15 in OT . It is a computer controlled target scheme so every shooter shoots the same targets. The targets travel between 60 and 75m + or - so are travelling at different speeds and  mostly...
