Think your Sunday is going badly? Look at my barrel..

The original poster should ready himself to be told there was no fault on the part of Teague... they have a reputation to protect and got their report done pronto. Many people have had their guns "Teagued" it therefore follows that there was no problem with the work they carried out... it takes...

Think your Sunday is going badly? Look at my barrel..

Well here is a scenario. You claim your insurance who inspect the gun and ask for a report of their own... unlikely but not impossible. An insurance company will always try blame someone to avoid having to shell out themselves . It will be interesting to hear what is in that report should you...

    gun fit ?

I have seen some weird sights on the stands down here Perazzi SCO and SC3 guns with lumps of Styrofoam gaffer taped onto the stock, they do not care as long as they don't hear the hooter.

Think your Sunday is going badly? Look at my barrel..

Exactly MartynB and shotgun forums are a place for amateur blabber mouths such as myself to give an opinion🤣 and as I say if you post something like that on the site it will get opinions now whether an individual thinks these opinions are ridiculous or not is up to them, personally I could care...

Think your Sunday is going badly? Look at my barrel..

In what way ? It is perfectly natural to debate the situation; If the guy does not want people to debate what has happen why did he go to the trouble of posting pictures of his problem on a shotgun shooting site ? If you don't like debate then don't come onto the site and leave those who do to...

Think your Sunday is going badly? Look at my barrel..

For me the problem with the conversion of a fixed choke gun to a multi choke is an alteration which without any question reduces the ability of the barrel to resist the pressures created within the barrel of the gun should there be some sort of malfunction, the chokes be not properly fitted or...

Think your Sunday is going badly? Look at my barrel..

That is possible but that would srely be down to the insurer to have that work done not the insured? Teague are not going to want to be out of pocket for a forensic examination to have a claim paid. Working that way is a financial stand off and one way of reducing any claims

Think your Sunday is going badly? Look at my barrel..

These guys are supposed to be experts it is what they do. What I do think is may be a bit iffy is that the deformation has happened at the choke and not half way down the barrel.  That indicates to me that the work done on that gun has contributed to that fault... stand by to be told by an...

Think your Sunday is going badly? Look at my barrel..

He has been lucky for years then he has been shooting that gun for a long time. I am sure though that well made barrels such as those used by Perazzi for their multi choke guns have heavier tube walls around the choke section than say those used for my Browning XTR which have Briley chokes...

Think your Sunday is going badly? Look at my barrel..

Could be wrong but that looks like metal probably lead that has been forced passed the choke tube. I am not an expert but the only question that can be asked is was that choke tightened properly? Looking at the photograph it looks like it was which in turn makes me think that the choke did not...

    Trap and/versus Sporting barrels.

A guy I shoot with has a  Browining Carrega super trap Special number 180 of 200 made. He had it completely restored it is a thing of beauty, it really is. Was hand made in Herstal Belgium Michel Carrega used one but I don't think he used it in the Olympics in 72 opting for the standard B25...

    Trap and/versus Sporting barrels.

That is all going to be relative and only for a short time. Most people shoot by pointing their gun and the reason the hit the target is that they know where their gun is pointing. Now if they change their gun they will relearn where the barrels of that gun are pointing and adjust. But i really...

    Licencing issue

Thank god things are so different down here! Here you do not get a license for the gun all you need is a membership of the FFBT signed and stamped by your doctor and you can buy as many shotguns as you want. I really do not know how the police if for example you are someone who should not have a...

    How many shotguns

The plod are very careful about domestic considerations when it comes to granting shotgun licenses; Also state of mind and whether or not the applicant takes a drink or two, though how the apply these considerations is mystifying at times. True story and quite funny. A guy that used to be with...

    It’s how far?

Hard to believe but I was actually between shots asking myself why I had driven 95km to do what I was doing! It has been a strange season with lockdown taking a major chunk out of it and all the competitions I was going to shoot being cancelled... seems to have drained my drive. I have not even...
