The obvious answer would be that if they DO include an adjustable stock, you can go as high as you like so it'll fit all and sundry, so makes sense to start off low... go the other way and you're paying someone to cut down the stock. If it's already there, it costs nothing to add to the height.

And this is why I bought a gun which didn't come out factory fixed choke. 🙁

Sorry, I meant it's a 2020 model so you can't have had it long... how come you got it in the first place as it's not a particularly cheap gun? Good deal on it originally that you couldn't pass on? And 525's are great guns.  :)

I think that's the theoretical key exactly. I would have thought that if it was correct, then if you happened to twitch, not be on target exactly, etc. then the fact that you're not quite on it means you'll get away with it cos you're possibly More accurate. I dunno, could all be utter b0llocks! 😁

Just had this alerted due to a response but can someone elaborate on why it actually isn't a fairly accurate thing to suggest: that a smaller shot would have to make you more accurate cos otherwise you'd simply miss? Just after reasonable responses to make a logical reason to it not being a fair...

Yeah, get that, I guess I'm just used to my 525 which doesn't simply come loose until I use my key when I'm cleaning it or whatever, so it looks wierd to me when others are potentially having to tighten as they go round. If that was gonna do that randomly between stands, et voila, situations...

Always concerns me slightly when I see shooters tightening/fiddling with their extended chokes by hand before every stand, and I don't mean those who are changing them completely, just... Noodling with them. 😕 Might just be devil's hands and/or habit, but it's a bit disconcerting for me to see...
