    Contact Lenses for shooting

Best thing to do is try them and see (literally!) dailies can work really well from a comfort and hygiene perspective - just need to ensure the prescription is tuned up for shooting. If there is any astigmatism in your prescription it can mean the lenses may need to be a little more complex...

Sporting shoots. Where - and how did it go?

This is true :D however doubt she'll want to be dragged around a sporting ground watching me shoot like a chump much longer!

Well Done John Heagren RBSS Champ

I'd guess RR didn't want to give another car away so the springs were wound up somewhat compared to last year!

Sporting shoots. Where - and how did it go?

Me too! Went round on my tod, very late so no one really to watch. Started well (for me) 6 away after five stands...then the five sim LR crossers, hit 3! Megan Jones shot that extremely well, I couldn't work out what to do. Shot some other stuff reasonably, then went down the end and managed 6...

    What's the difference?

The Falcon Pro has a sweat bar at the top and the choice of cable sides whereas the Falcon only has the straight fit. They're a great product and kinder on the pocket than the Panther X7. Shootclayers get a discount fom me on any shooting eyewear too ;)

New Pilla lens sets for black clays

You answered your own question there - there isnt a reference point. But, purely as a best guess, i'd say no more than 2 to 5%. on the understanding this is the "perfect-eyed" person of which you speak. I would say spend the money on a top class coach - £150 spent with someone like Ed Solomons...

New Pilla lens sets for black clays

Good question! I would say having completely the "wrong" lens colour will have a greater negative effect on the scores then the "correct" colour will have a positive effect, for instance wearing a full-sun lens for shooting in a wood in the winter will cause more lost targets than a fine tuned...

New Pilla lens sets for black clays

Possibly...we know speed and lead and distance can be "messed up" when shooting under floodlights for instance, so another couple of questions. Can you actually kill ALL backgrounds with just one coloured lens? How were great scores shot years ago when we didnt have all this choice or even...

New Pilla lens sets for black clays

No it wouldn't. There are some specific "orange enhancers" that CAN help SOME people pick up the blaze clays better. This is not one of those!

New Pilla lens sets for black clays

I'll show you in just a moment! ...you're probably not going to see it. But, its worth remembering this is an ARCHERY product, to kill the red and therefore promote the gold centre of the target...its use in clay shooting is perhaps rather limited but this isn't its intended purpose after all.

    Pilla fugitive

Sadly not - this is the stinger about buying discontinued sets...if you purchased them from a "shop" you still have your 14 day cooling off period. Otherwise ebay them and i'll sort you out with a good deal on a current set :D

    Eye protection

It isn't fashion - they're just now more available. Whether UK shooting weather conditions require so many different versions is moot - and, prepare yourselves, yet MORE variations of purple are coming from Pilla this year. This DOES perhaps keep the marketing wheel turning... From an optical...

    The Gloom

Thanks Matt - Charles it sounds as though the issue is coming from a more dilated pupil when the light levels are low. Perhaps try a design with greater aberration control, the Duette is great as long as the astigmatism is on the cornea and not inside in the crystalline lens itself...

    Glare affecting target acquisition

Hello Luke! In bright light, the pupil reduces in size, constricts, to dampen down the disabling effects of glare to the retina.  Constricted pupils increase both depth of field and depth of focus. Your pupils will be larger behind polarised lenses so this "bonus" will be reduced, but then...
