    England selection

I shot it, and I think this fell in to the 'good-hard' camp. I'll caveat that and say I shot it on Sunday, and I think it was a bit windier on the Saturday? I enjoyed it, and I certainly didn't hit many 😂 In my mind the selection shoots are designed to separate the AAA shooters to allow...

Sporting shoots. Your personal accounts. 2022

Will certainly be making a trip to shoot this. Glad you enjoyed it.

    Rizzini

I can help here. I've got an S2000 and have shot it for 4 years with circa 25k shells across clay and game. It's not let me down and always attracts positive comments!  I went over to the factory in Italy and went down the custom stock route. Where are you located in the country? I'd be...

ESP, CPSA reg - squadding can end

I'm a real fan of the squadding system, I'll be preferring grounds that offer it over those that do not. I heard complaints yesterday from shooters that it took 3 hours to shoot Grange as they were back to a free for all. It's a more professional approach and more closely mimics major shoots...

Sporting Shoots 2021. Reports and discussion.

It was good to see you again, Will. The shoot felt normal and well balanced but maybe the lower field was missing a big target? You're right in the sense that it's a gentle balance! The battue on the right of the lower field was a good target, but maybe one more of that level would have made...

    English open Barbury 12-16th May

So what presentations are stand 10 and 15?

Honesberie for me as well today. Great course, with targets covering all distances and angles it was well balanced. I had no bad stands, but I only straighted 2 all day, so the ones and twos away cost me as I finished on 83 I think. There's a local hunt shoot tomorrow evening which I may/may...

I had my second *** on Wednesday (Pfizer), didn't feel great yesterday but feel fine today. Hopefully you'll be fighting fit by Sunday chap

Coleys today and somehow managed to dodge the biblical weather until the last stand! I was 9 away over the first 10 stands, then stand 11 and the hail storm happened. I ended on 82 😂

So... What do we think of squadded shoots?

Poor phrasing, you're always given the chance to see a pair but you don't get to see a few shooters shoot the whole stand to see 4+ pairs.

So... What do we think of squadded shoots?

I'm a real fan of it, it allows you to make the most of your day! From the grounds I've shot since COVID Honesberie have the best flowing system as you go off in pairs. You're done in 1.5 hours tops and very rare to ever have any waiting.  The downside is you or your partner are often first in...

It feels like we might finally have spring here! the sun is out and it's not completely cold.  Barbury on Sunday for me for the second of the England selection shoots. Also a great chance to shoot the ground before the Open in a few weeks. These shoots certainly help to keep the average in check 😂

Honesberie for me today, again another really enjoyable round. I managed 85 (possibly 86, not sure on my maths 😄). Scores are up but it looks like one of my stands might have been confused with the person I shot with. Will be sorted quick I'm sure. They have the best flowing system that I've...

I was really looking forward to shooting the H&H challenge shoot but Range Rover reliability struck whilst I was on the M40 😪

Exactly, shooting the selection shoot there should give a great insight and set expectations for the Open.

I shot Westfield over the weekend for the first of the England selection shoots. It was certainly a firmer shoot but everything was hittable. A few head scratchers that you only work out after you've shot it and walk 50m away to realise there was a twist to the clay that you couldn't easily see...

Westfield this weekend for the England selection shoot and then Holland and Holland on Tuesday for the challenge shoot. I think there's space on our squad if anyone would like to shoot it? We're on at 11:30 on Tuesday 13th.

Well that was a bloody cold affair at Coleys 😂 Enjoyable shoot, again set with the recent lockdown in mind. Few sloppy bits at the start but I often find that to be the case when I dash out from work to shoot in the middle of the day. Ended on 86 which isn't too bad. I imagine there will be...

Sporting Shoots 2021. Reports and discussion.

On Monday 29th I went to Ian Coleys as a friend was picking up a gun. Glad I went as we found a much more suitable gun for him, just a shame I had to double his budget. He's bought it now and is over the moon so that's the main thing. Then the first real shoot back was Honesberie on Good...

Has shooting started in Scotland and wales

I imagine this would be the case, and I'd support that.  Pretty irresponsible really, and it'd certainly put the sport in a bad light if it was picked up on.
