    Shooting re-evaluation?

Best of luck, Will. Fingers crossed it all goes through for you!

Adjustable comb, fashion or real benefit

I bet @k80ben would be able to do a gun fitting for you on his daily Instagram stories. Drop him a message and see what he says?

    Are stocks interchangeable?

As a general rule, yes. Although model specific quirks apply. If you bought a standard Browning 725 and found a grade 5 stock for a 725, you should be able to swap it straight over. Each model would have unique considerations. Taking the 725 for example, some of the newer ones have a balancing...

    Sporting Shoots 2020

You've just made me laugh out loud! I'm so pleased your first post on here was to bring back that memory for me 😂 As it's out in the open now... When shooting the Churchill Challenge on Saturday I manged to miss EVERY. SINGLE. ONE. of the pink dustbin lids on the scaffolding. I do struggle on...

    Sporting Shoots 2020

Shot at EJC yesterday in a small group, giving each other space.  Didn't venture out today, the idea of a crowded Sunday reg didn't sit right with me. Hoping we can start to get back out later on in the year!

    Sporting Shoots 2020

I imagine this thread might quieten down a bit for a while... It was Longridge for me on Sunday. Shot with Colin, Turkey, and Luke. We all started well, and continued pretty well! We shot the course in order 1-11 but skipped 5 due to a breakdown. After we shot stand 11 I noticed an error on my...

Is pellet size just another head thing?

Similar boat to Will.  I use Gamebore Whitegold 7.5's which are loaded with their 'Diamond Shot' at 2.4mm. That's a European 7.5 or an English 6.5 (according to this link: http://www.hallowellco.com/shot_size_chart.htm).  They certainly hit hard, even at the rangier targets you might see on...

    Sporting Shoots 2020

Similar story here, Will. Last stand and I ended up shooting in front of the yellow/green L-R 😐 Enjoyed the course as I don't mind long crossers; to me they're preferable to fiddly technical targets.

    Tipping the Gamekeeper

It's a personal choice of course, but that is about right for a 100-150 bird day depending on the estate. Of course, if it's a great day or they present a good day in unfavourable conditions that tip could increase. Do you know what sort of bag number could be expected?

    New Year =New Gun

Certainly not looking to change but Rizzini has launched their new flagship competition gun, the BR460. Will certainly have a look at one but have no plans on changing mine just yet.

Sporting Shoots; where- and how was it? (2018)

Longridge today for the NYD shoot. Suffering with a touch of manflu but soldiering on regardless. Shot it 1-11. By stand 9 I was only 9 away so of course, all I can think about is maybe I'll get my first 90, promptly missed two due to thought process and went on to finish up 10 and 11 only...

eley superb felt what else compares

I shoot White Gold plas wad the majority of the time, but I just use the same in Fibre when required as I get the same velocity as well as recoil characteristics.

    Sim Game day recommendations

I think they're great fun! They're run in a similar style to a game day; typically you turn up and have a breakfast with a safety briefing and explanation of the days format. Then it's off to the 'pegs' which are normally shared with someone else. You'll shoot for a 'drive' whilst the other chap...

    Which first competition

Zea has written a couple great blog posts to help in this! https://gungirluk.com/2017/09/27/cpsa-competitions-part-1-im-ready-to-progress-what-is-the-cpsa-why-should-i-join/  https://gungirluk.com/2017/10/03/cpsa-competitions-part-2-im-ready-to-shoot-my-first-registered-competition-what-do-i-do/

    Worlds at EJC

The prelim (preliminary) is a registered sporting competition over 100 birds. It's designed to be shot before the main event as a form of a warm up.

    Worlds at EJC

I've booked on to this but I was too slow to get a weekend slot! Monday for the Sportrap and then Tue/Weds for the Sporting. Considering the Prelim as well but wondering if travelling to EJC and back for three days might be enough!

    Hand warmers

Used one very similar last season, not too bad but only get a couple hours heat when set on 'high' when out in the cold!

    Hand warmers

I got an S-Boston at the end of last season ready for this year, looking forward to trying it out!

Sporting Shoots; where- and how was it? (2018)

Well I till haven’t been out shooting since 27th October. Knee rehab is progressing though so I’m hopeful I’ll be up to limping around for the Ian Coley shoot on 14th December!   In the mean time I’ve found that if you’re very specific with the number of grounds shot and total adjusted...
