    Pilla shooting glasses

I park in the car parks, stick to the paths, and shoot from the cages. It happens.

    Pilla shooting glasses

You don't need them when starting out. Stick with safety glasses by all means, but do make sure they're safety glasses and not just sunglasses.  As you take the game more seriously and spend more time on clay grounds your risk of an accident will increase. I've lost count of the number of times...

Sporting Shoots; where- and how was it? (2018)

You can probably turn up and just shoot practice birds when they've got a registered on. I think it's £1.20 per practice target! Easy enough to tie in to a  registered up that way

    Stock Cast Adjustment - Nottinghamshire

Hi James, Doveridge handle a lot of stock work and are not too far from you: https://www.doveridgeclaysports.co.uk/our-resident-gun-smith/ Cheers, Doug

The targets, literally, have wings so scream off in any direction and change flight path. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XL_B_s71u4c It was £53 for birds only entry, and 6 practice birds. That was at Rugby. We started shooting at 10:45 and were finished by about 3. You shoot 6 targets then...

Sporting Shoots; where- and how was it? (2018)

Well, I shan't be dabbling with Helice again 😂 Very enjoyable but completely against everything I do in sporting so I really struggled! Krieghoff Masters next weekend will be more enjoyable I'm sure!

Outlaw X7 owners in the South

I'm a bit too far north to help you I think (GL56 postcode). If you speak to @EdLyons he is normally happy to post kit out for you to try before committing to buy.

Sporting Shoots; where- and how was it? (2018)

No shooting last weekend as I was away for the weekend. This weekend coming I've decided to try something completely new, Helice.  I'm excited to try it, but not excited to spend all day shooting 25 targets! I'm hoping that we'll be able to get away in time to make last card at Honesberie!

    Who has what booked

It's a small farm shoot out near my in-laws. Certainly sounders grander than it is but it's great fun!

Sporting Shoots; where- and how was it? (2018)

I shot it in the afternoon so did not have anything in the sun. You're right, the sun is predictable so targets in to the sun are inexcusable.  By your description of stand 10 i'm guessing you took the crosser before the dropper? That's how I took it but as long as you addressed the crosser...

    Who has what booked

I'm off to Spain for some quail shooting in October and then actually have nothing booked in the UK yet. I'm hoping to get something last minute as/when a good opportunity comes up.

Sporting Shoots; where- and how was it? (2018)

First shoot was Grange and I finished on 87 but that included 5 inexcusable misses in the final pairs. It was a user friendly shoot where consistency was needed rather than big gaps. Then on to Honesberie where it was a slightly firmer but still user friendly course. There were a couple of...

Looking forward to Ian Coley's on Wednesday. Let's hope for the right balance on the shoot this month :)

Sporting Shoots; where- and how was it? (2018)

Every bird was visible, hittable and the shoot ran like clock work. Yes, it was on the firm side but you need that every now and then to avoid complacency. I shoot Sportrap once a year at Barbury so I have an expectation of the day based on past experience. There’s a reason I do go back each...

Sporting Shoots; where- and how was it? (2018)

Well, Barbury today. The last two weeks have had me feeling like I’ve no business being at registered shoots. I think there was only one 90 and some top shooters putting in very low scores. Tough old shoot which highlighted my inability to make correct moves to anything big/technical.  Time to...

Sporting Shoots; where- and how was it? (2018)

Honesberie for me. I’ve been getting grumpy with myself for ‘stopping the gun’ recently, as you may have seen further up this thread. The remedy was to make sure I was being religious with my hold and kill points to see if that helped.  It did not, and I was getting frustrated at myself from...

Sporting Shoots; where- and how was it? (2018)

A very active Saturday saw me very tired and very sore on Sunday so I thought I'd just go out for fun with the auto. Ended on 61/100 at Northampton 😂 Whilst I was better off not picking a gun up I was really impresses with Northampton as a first time visit. Well organised squadding with...

I’ve got commitments all day otherwise I’d be there for sure.

I think you might be on to something there. It wouldn't be the first time I've been called up for having my hold point too far out. I'll give that some conscious attention on Saturday.

Sporting Shoots; where- and how was it? (2018)

A week of ups and a few downs! Wednesday was Coleys 'Coffin Nails' shoot. Personally, I got torn apart scoring 55 but I enjoyed the shoot. It's not the sort of thing I'd drive to shoot week in week out but the change was quite refreshing. Shooting with a mob of A/AA/AAA shooters was helpful as...
