Wanted Browning Medallist 12 bore Ejectors

Hi Josh and welcome to the forum. The Medallist was built in Italy by Sabatti, later known as FIAS. The good news is that spares are probably still available as this model was made in numbers and badged up by other brands such as Rottweil. However, ejector breakages are a very common problem...

Starting back up what gun !?

Lots of people are quite happy with the 725. Any particular reason why you want a change?

    Choke Grease

I've never used oil on choke threads but then I always loosen or remove them before storage. My CG chokes do seal really well at the bottom so there's never any crud building up which helps. I've used Schmierfix grease from Alan Rhone for years now. It's basically LiquiMoly which is a sort of...

    Shoot reports and news 2024

It's a team effort. She looks 15 years younger than she is, even after 51 years married to me. :ROFLMAO:

    Shoot reports and news 2024

Thanks for the kind words Donna. I suppose looking well is fairly relative as I'll be 78 tomorrow... It's probably all down to Mrs Westward's legendary smoothies. ;);)

    Shoot reports and news 2024

Coley's for me too. Nice to see Donna and Phil for a quick chat before starting my first shoot for 3 months. Definitely a mostly steady course but a couple of testing stands. I was pleased to straight stand 2, especially as there was a AAA and a AA in the squad. The sim pair on stand 4 were a...

    Not today

Same here Wyn. I've definitely morphed into a fair weather shooter. Must be all those years out reffing in all weathers. Or maybe it's just old age... And I don't much like coming home with the car looking like it's been on safari and hosing off the mud straight into the nice gravel where...

    Shoot reports and news 2024

I almost went. :D Trouble is I don't like to book too far ahead and these days the mid week shoots are always full by the time I try to book. Note to self: Get a grip man!

Hats of to young William. Great shooting to be top gun today at Ian Coley's.

    Rule changes

As Wyn says they aren't banned, but IIRC guns set up for release trigger should have visible letter "R" on the stock to inform others, particularly the ref, as extra care is needed when such a gun has to be unloaded due to say a no bird, if the trigger has been pulled but not released.

    Out of the ordinary Browning

I believe WB are the initials of Billy the Kid...

    Short Arms ?

I stand by my earlier post. A good instructor - and Bebo made a great suggestion in Cheryl Hall - will quickly identify what's needed and how to proceed. A couple of hundred spent up front now could save you thousands down the road.

    Short Arms ?

I don't agree with seeing a gun fitter as the first move. I strongly advise seeing a shooting instructor first. Probably the best place in your neck of the woods would be E J Churchill (near High Wycombe). They can do the lot for you and in the right order - which is important!

    MK38 32" vs Ultra XS 30"

Personally I didn't find the XS Titanium barrel heavy - and it was a 32" model. I like a slight forward bias to the weight so that a gun balances between my hands but that's not what I mean by barrel heavy. Now, the old 425 based mark 1 XS was seriously barrel heavy, pity they didn't use the 325...

    MK38 32" vs Ultra XS 30"

There are at least 3 iterations of the Ultra starting more than 20 years ago. The first was a souped up 425 and therefore very nose heavy, just at the time Beretta was introducing sporters like the Gold E and DT-10 with light barrels. Eventually Browning worked it out and changed it to a souped...

    Fore end grip

I've seen hundreds people who can smash a fast moving 4" clay at 45 yards but can't get their empties in a 3ft round bin placed right in front of them. ;)

    Miroku MK60

Originally the both the 60 and 70 were produced in 2 versions, sporter and game and allegedly only available with 28 or 30" barrels. More recently the 60 became "universal". AFAIK they all had the same fixed choke barrels, most being quarter/half choking. I had an original for 4 years...

    Been away..................................quite a while.

The tensioner on my SV10 held the forend metal tight to the action but the forend wood was screwed to the metal part. If the screws loosened as they tend to on the 6xx family guns, the wood rattled against the metal. The 692 used the same tensioning system and the 694 forend is presumably also...

    Chokes

They may pattern a little tighter but they are excellent at delivering comprehensive breaks, very few people feel the need to change to aftermarket chokes unless they want to lighten the front end.

    Shoot reports and news 2024

That's reasonable in sporting, not so much with Fitasc, but either way it needs the shoot organisers to make sure all the refs follow the same protocol.
