    why ?

I was considering a Zoli back when Fawcetts had the distribution but I didn't fancy a 450 mile round trip just to look and hold.
  2. W

    why ?

Simples, Zoli needs a full on committed distributor like AngloItalian. For years they were distributed by a fishing tackle shop in Lancaster and now Zoli is just another line distributed by Edgar Brothers. What happens if you need warranty work or a repair? Do they attend open days with demo...

    Barrel Length- How long??

One of the enduring shotgunning myths is that barrel length choice depends on your physical size and/or strength. To understand what I mean, consider a 30" B425 Browning from the 90s or a MK70 Miroku. No offence to any other opinions on them but the barrels on these guns are significantly...

    Fiocchi cartridges

I'm thinking pretty much like doing exactly that. Having just done the full winter clean & service on the clay gun I'll only venture out for a special reason - unless I get serious cabin fever or withdrawal symptoms.

    fixed choke

I asked Ivan a couple of years ago if Teague could fit screw chokes to an M Spec. Much the same story; depends on the barrel wall thickness. Some you can, some you can't.

    694 Problem

I suspect that they rushed out the first batch thinking they'd sell like hot cakes. This was at a time when their quality control department had gone AWOL and GMK was over whelmed with faulty 692s. Your problem is probably a one off but personally I wouldn't let the dealer remove wood and...

    694 Problem

Not quite a new development. This is exactly what happened with the first batch of 692s to arrive in this country. GMK should sort it, not your dealer.

    DT10 to a DT11 or vice versa

Too subtle for my old eyes... 🤣

    advice appreciated

15 or so years ago most people, including me, regarded CGs as little more than dressed up Italian budget guns. There are some who still feel that way. About 6 or 7 years ago I asked the owner of a well known shooting ground with on site gun shop what he though of them. He trotted out the usual...

    DT10 to a DT11 or vice versa

Early DT11s were heavy and cumbersome and some people did go back to DT10s. There are those who love the 11s, especially Jasper on here, but among the registered sporting sporting punters, I'd say there are still more 10s around than 11s. My guess is that there's so little difference in the...

I know about 3 people who've changed from DT11 to CG - if that helps.

    Shot size, load and patterning

It's the discussion that never ends... Personally I've never been able to work out exactly what can be learned from patterning. It can be fun to waste some time messing around and shooting at pattern boards but how do you relate what you're seeing to what happens out there shooting moving...

Sporting shoots. Your personal accounts. 2022

Well shot Donna. I've reffed SS a few times before it became a reg discipline and almost everyone seems to enjoy it as much as ESP. I nearly booked in for Sunday but decided against as I don't seem to have my shooting head on at the moment. A few Fridays at Longridge should hopefully sort...

Bluing on a 725 Pro Sport

I've seen worn away blacking on Perazzis. My mates Summit Ascent has the blacking worn thin as well. I was joking about the patina really and I would honestly never buy a black action gun precisely because it wears off. I'd hazard the guess that a black finish is cheaper to produce than...

Bluing on a 725 Pro Sport

It's not confined just to the ProSport. Finish wearing thin on black action guns is pretty common, typically on and around the top lever and the action bottom. You could think of it as patina... 🙂

Auto safety to manual (Caesar Guerini).

I suggest phoning AngloItalian and speaking to Alistair the gunsmith. They are always helpful and if it isn't a DIY job they'll probably offer to do it while you wait.

    Removal of wooden butt pad.

It's probably just the stock oil holding the pad on as CGs come with oil applied to the bare wood under the pad. Glued on pads are unusual and the only maker I know who do it is Perazzi - or at least they used to. A bit of gentle persuasion should take care of it. 💪

Sporting shoots. Your personal accounts. 2022

Lots of shoots on in the west/west midlands region yesterday so nowhere was particularly busy. I almost went to Westfield but picked Gunsite instead. No wind at home but very windy there and a few targets were affected but nothing compared to my tear ducts which are still highly sensitive to...
