    Short Arms ?

For the money you are likely to get for the AyA, I would hang on to it. IF it is standard stock on the AyA it will be 14 1/2" l.o.p. but the straight hand stock will also affect your hand positioning, as will the forend. Keep shooting with your 'new' gun until you have progressed a bit more, and...

    B725 Protrap 32" vs CG Invictus V 30"

Can I suggest that maybe have a day out to a shooting ground that actually has the gun you are looking at. Make sure you can give it a thorough workout on the targets you intend to shoot. Then ask yourself is it worth the money required to change. Questions ONLY you can answer.

    Stock finishing product

When you get to my age, Slippery Dicks are just a memory ! 🫣

    Stock finishing product

I use my own mix of Alkanet root red oil, then Trade Secrets or CCL stock finishing oil. If it looks as though my gunstock is going to get wet, I use a furniture polish on it the night previous to the outing. I use this stuff and have done for over 20 years, without any problems. It stops the...

    Higher visibility front beads ?

Hope to have it perfected by the first of next month !

    Higher visibility front beads ?

I had one of the Browning variety interchangeable front beads on my ProSport. I found it too off putting. I kept waiting for the red bead to turn green, before pulling the trigger. I changed it for the small white insert.

    No Semi autos allowed ??

I used a Remmie semi auto Trap gun for many years and won several competitions with it. Most grounds had cartridge stands at each firing point, and I would put 5 cartridges on the stand before I commenced shooting. I was able to see when I was due to 'Change' and would give that target 2 shots...

    No Semi autos allowed ??

I can only presume this is to prevent spent cases littering the floor, which can be a hazard when walking between the firing points, especially on concreted ground. As long as they intend to have the same rules applying to ejector shotguns too, I don't see a problem.

    Old Vintage Cartridge Collection

Auction rooms can be a source of display cabinets, some at give away prices too. If the wood is scratched, a spray can of wood paint (usually matt) works wonders.

    Hudson SxS - new toy

Can you tell where it was proofed ? Thats a start.

    Old Vintage Cartridge Collection

I also took a 12" Clay Pigeon Company advertising clay. There have been many requests for the ground to order a few thousand of them ! 😀

    Old Vintage Cartridge Collection

I took mine to the local clay club, where they are displayed in 2 glass fronted display cabinets. Now all can see them.

    ported barrels

I know what you mean about cleaning. I still get fooled by viewing the porting from the breech, I am scrubbing hell out of the barrel until I realise, it is actually the porting I am seeing and NOT crud ! 🙄

    ported barrels

Briley in USA are still offering to port your existing barrels for $125 for one, or $200 for both. They do not have the same proofing laws as here, so the barrels would not need a reproof.

    Low energy bulbs

I have just replaced 2 light fittings with 'new' low energy type lights. Compared to the fittings they have replaced, the light output is awful. I would have been better buying a couple of boxes of candles ! 🙄

    ported barrels

That's OK then ! I don't have any mates, and those I used to shoot with haven't scored in a long time. Oh, and I'm deaf ! 😁

    ported barrels

The gun that I have bought, which has ported barrels, is a keeper. It will NOT be my problem if, and when, it goes for sale ! 😊

    ported barrels

    Can I ask why ?
  19. W

    Fore end grip

Yes, some shooters seem to put more emphasis on hitting the bin, usually because they are unable to hit the clays !

    Fore end grip

Oh it does if you want the shot to come out the right way up ! I have missed many a target because the shot came out upside down ! 🙄
