    Hull Sporting 100 paint issue

Might be worth going Halfords or similar and buying a ‘ clay bar’ from the car detailing section . They’re used for pulling contamination off car paint without damage I’ve used them to get stuff off my truck’s paint that normal methods wouldn’t shift . You might need to lubricate it with a...

    Browning Maxus 2

Question , what do you want it for ?I think It’s a 3 “ magnum chambered semi -auto with a synthetic stock , so its natural home would be for wild fowling , it’s capable of shooting big loads of steel shot . For clay pigeon shooting Beretta make more suitable models . But if you looking for...

    Guntrader

I agree , silly not to put on a location . It’s easy enough for the seller to add one in the item description , in fact I’m amazed that sellers don’t put much more information about the guns in the ads , the free text box could take a novel . Also it costs nothing to include as many photos as...

    Length Matters it seems….

IMHO as a journeyman plodder and end user of guns for 50 years , your 694 is probably only £ 300 - 500 away from being a real weapon . I’ve just got an ( sideplated ) o/u gun back from JF Wiseman’s , all the dimension mods required from a professional gunfit were carried out including a new...

Would you try shooting from your other shoulder?

On and off are just the direction of cast from any dead straight stock . If you look down the rib of a gun from the stock end , cast off will go to the right , cast on will go to the left . The shoulder doesn’t come into it .

Would you try shooting from your other shoulder?

If you are left eye dominant , I’m sure you are aware of the various methods of taking your eye out of the equation . The only things you need to do is go down the tried and tested route , get a gun fit session to put your right eye correctly aligned with the rib , and stock adjusted to suit...

    Guntrader

I sold a Mauser . 223 two weeks ago via a GunTrader ad , I think it was £8.50 for a month . My issue with it is twice I’ve needed to ring someone about issues and no one answers the phone , no one returns a message . I’ve put another gun on last week and had a couple of calls about it . However...

    Riddle me this……?

A laser will give you only a reference point +/- and L/R in relation to the point of aim you have taken down the rib . The point of impact can’t be established until you have shot at that point of aim from various distances. Depending on the gun it will have been set at the factory to place...

For Sale CZ 455 .22 RF

Long Shot on this forum ( good pun eh ! ) but I’m selling my FAC guns as I’m no longer in a ‘ self keeping ‘ syndicate . The last to go is the one below . CZ 455 laminated Thumbhole Stock with a 16” heavy barrel . This is a cabinet queen , excellent condition . Hawke 4-12 x 50 scope ...

Semi auto, love em / hate em.

Why would anyone fit a device to an ejection port that has the possibility to mess up the second shot ? Its bad enough in a clay shooting scenario where you might lose points if the ‘ Catcher ‘ caused a malfunction enough times on a stand . Unforgivable on live quarry like pigeon where a follow...

    Misfire

I said it would pop on a fire . Primers don’t explode and fly out of case heads unless you’ve given them some help by prodding and levering around them with pointy objects after cutting the cartridge open . A cartridge only costs 30 pence . If it doesn’t go bang , chuck it in the bin ,

    Misfire

Just toss it the empties bin . It presents no risk at all . You could chuck it into a garden fire , you might get a pop when the primer goes and a flare from the powder , it’s not going to spray lead like the movies . You could set fire to a pallet full , they’d burn , but they are not going to...

    Purely Theoretical But…..

I miss Clube de Tiro which was in Villamoura . Very civilised it was , the FITASC layouts in the woods , nice clubhouse , cold Sagres , you could have an enjoyable day there ( assuming you’d given the Sagres a miss at lunchtime of course ) . I don’t think the box pigeons that lived in a big...

    Purely Theoretical But…..

The Italian lakes would tick all the boxes , nice people. , lovely area , fantastic food . More shooting than you can shake a stick at . For me the European culture is easier to get along with than the American culture . Or perhaps Spain somewhere near Malaga , Estepona would be nice , again...

Gun case or gun slip for storage

Legia Spray is fine for everything , all over the gun as is VP 90 gun spray . Pro Ferrum is brilliant for peace of mind in places where you can’t see if water has got in under and behind top and mid ribs is a favourite . If your already doing the cleaning thats fine , as a clay shooter...

You can see the front bead ! Impressive ! I’d struggle to see a golf ball at 32” !

Gun case or gun slip for storage

Agree 100% , my comments were just about quality gun slips as there is a lot of rubbish out there . I saw my best mates Belgium made browning go to a rusty red aftet it was kept for a week in a gun sleeve between shoots .

Gun case or gun slip for storage

Clean the gun with Pro Ferrum oil . Especially if it’s got wet . Make sure it gets into vented mid ribs etc . Make sure everything is wiped dry and then wipe over again with a lightly oiled rag . Keep it in its hard case with a VP90 sachet . Sleeves can ruin a gun if they are not dry...
