    Wanted 725 S3 30INCH

WRT the MK11 , it’s a 725 action body with a 525 trigger , apparently someone at Miroku didn’t think a 72 gm double discharge of sixes at a pheasant was sporting . I’ve seen it done on the next peg with a Pro Sport … not pretty

    Wanted 725 S3 30INCH

Yes gloves , never shoot without . I’ve always got a couple of pairs of McWetts in my shooting bag , leather Dents , and if it’s really hot Solognac clay (fingerless) ftom Decathalon are the bargain of the century . Unfortunately J and P springs will no longer ship their up specced parts to...

    Wanted 725 S3 30INCH

Yes , it’s a 5 minute job . Conversely a lot of Browning game guns are now manual safety and come with the auto connect bit as a spare in the box .

    Wanted 725 S3 30INCH

To me it’s interesting that the Miroku Mk11 ( side plate game gun in the U.K. but available as a normal action sporter in other markets ) , is built on a 725 action body but uses a 525 type inertia block trigger, rather than the 725 ‘ mechanical ‘ type .

New Berretta a400 xcel sporter gray

The reason I asked was that I’ve had a batch of Power Gold which had duff primers in them . If I remember rightly I had half a dozen out of a thousand not go bang . Has the fault occurred with both the Sporters and the Blacks ? If it has , then light strikes on an auto could be…. The bolt not...

New Berretta a400 xcel sporter gray

First question is were the cartridges all from the same batch ? If they were my first thought would be try a different cartridge , before looking at the gun .

    Balance - preferences

What’s you recommend weight distribution for a sporting clays gun then Ben ? And would that also work on a dedicated driven game gun ? Or would would you set that up differently ?

    LH Eye Dominance

Yes they do help , I’m battling age ! My eyesight isn’t as sharp . My specs have an adjustable bridge so sit high on my nose , then when I mount the gun I’m looking through the centre of the lens , not the top . They also have a curly ear piece so they don’t slip . There are plenty of people...

    LH Eye Dominance

I think that until you correct your vision Dave , mucking around with changing shoulders is putting the cart before the horse . I need a distance prescription to shoot well despite being classed as ‘ driving legal ‘ on my eye test . Popping on my specs is like being born again in clarity at 35...

    LH Eye Dominance

Question ? Why would left eye dominance affect the way you shot an air rifle ? I’m left eye dominant , I shoot small bore and centre fire and my left eye is either closed or if it’s open the right eye focus though the optics at x4 takes care of the rest . If you’ve had trouble shooting a...

    Cone height

IMHO , Stiggers has done the right thing , he’s contacted an established shooting coach , who has been a champion in his own right . That was the consensus of the posters on this thread . He’ll get more from a couple of hours face to face than a year’s advice on the internet from people...

    Cone height

As you’re in Belper , perhaps a call to Neville Guns in Alfreton ? splendid place , nice people , like a gun filled version of the Tardis . They could probably help via the Joe Neville shooting school up the road from the shop ,

    Stock damage

The stock comes off to service an action . No reason to clamp it . It doesn’t look to be gouged away , it could probably be raised with steam by a good woodworker .

    Shotgun Cabinet Information

The FEO who came around last renewal advised me to fasten any cabinet keys up in a solid keysafe with a combination . I bought a heavy duty unit , cost about £50 In the last house it was screwed to a masonry wall , in this house it’s screwed inside a bedroom cabinet . Just another level of...

    Wanted Briley chokes

Just for info There’s a Facebook group called Just Chokes U.K. that’s solely for buying and selling choke tubes . I recently bought a couple of pre owned titanium Teague Invector plus on there .

    Shotgun Cabinet Information

One easy way to secure your cabinet is to lay it on its back and drill some pairs of holes in it to correspond to two or three of the joists supporting a floor I think they’re at about 14” centres so you’d have no problem locating 3 or 4 joists over the length of a cabinet . Then fasten it...

    mk 11

I bought one two weeks ago , primarily as a game gun . It weighs 7lb 11oz .. IMHO it’s too light and too ‘ fast ‘ for a serious registered comp sporting clay gun . I bought the 30” barrelled gun specifically for what I’d call parkland pheasant snd partridge , where I’d find my 32” mk38 trap too...

    Choke Grease

Yes I am joking :p:p . Just comparing the Miroku / Browning Invector plus chokes to industrial pipe fittings . Next to my Teague converted guns with their long thin wall chokes they look like something made in first year metal work at school . Just bought an MK11 game gun , and out of choice I...

    Choke Grease

Having just bought a new multichoked Miroku , which is equipped with Invector plus chokes , I’m considering using PTFE gas tape and Boss White pipe jointing compound . One of those chokes weighs about the same as five of my Teague thin wall conversions in the other two guns . More like plumbing...

    Ported Chokes?

Ported Barrels were a fad in the late 80 s - 90’s . So was dressing like Don Johnson on Miami Vice .. that puts it in perspective.
