    Higher comb sporting stocks

I agree with you on this, my USA spec DT 10 adjustable comb is only raised a little in relation to the stock. The equivalent UK DT10 has to be adjusted to the maximum to give the same comb to rib height and doesn’t feel nice to shoot when set up like this. It’s the reason why my 682 adjustable...

    Cheshire shield

Squad was probably not the best terminology, I was meaning you can enter a guest team/squad/group to win some crystal glasses. There are too many of us going now so we are going to have to split up to shoot it or spend forever and a day on each stand.

    Higher comb sporting stocks

It's Henry Ford's principle of you can have any colour you want as long as it's black, if you make low, medium and high what does the gun shop stock on his rack, the importer import or the manufacturer make. All three sizes for every gun is quite a lot of stock and shooting has only a limited...

Yep I am going however the squad seems to have grown exponentially so no idea who I am actually going to be shooting it with on the day, it must be my rugged good looks, amazing charm and quiet modesty that attracted the late comers ...

    High Rib for Sporting

While they haven’t taken over the world there are some high calibre American shooters using the mid height rib for sporting Gebben Miles, Jon Kruger & Bill McGuire just to name a few. You will either love it or hate it & that’s the beauty of the CG open days, dry mounting in a shop...

    High Rib for Sporting

I bought a Caesar Guerini summit ascent about a month or so back, which is a mid rib rather than a full on high rib but still high I guess. It is advertised as a flat shooting 50/50 pattern, never patterned it but it does seem to shoot flat. The main reason I got it was my stupid fault of...

Cartridge recommendation for a 60-65% guy!

The easiest way is to get a box of each and put one box in your left pocket and the other in the right.. Load your gun with brand X in one barrel and brand Y in the other. After shooting the targets you will come to the conclusion of either: A ) It doesn't matter what you shoot you can't...

    Renewal question - first timer....

I am so glad I live in Greater Manchester Police’s area. Last time I sent my renewal off on a Tuesday, got a phone call on the Friday to arrange a visit for 10 am Sunday, I received my Licence  back Wednesday in the post, so an eight day turnaround.

    Selling cartridges

I posted on this subject on another forum some time back, the legislation is : (Amendment) Act 1988. http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/1988/45 If you read the legislation sub section (2) it is an offence for anyone not just RFD's to sell shotgun cartridges to an individual who doesn't...

    Pair Lost

I totally agree with you on the legalities hence my other post on breaking the law. You are also right about the gun not going bang when the trigger is pulled, but this doesn’t take into account those who don’t take the safety catch off, those who don’t release  the trigger from the first shot...

    Pair Lost

There is a difference between a gun malfunction or a cartridge malfunction, hence why the ref has to inspect and try and fire the gun. Cartridge malfunction will leave an indent on the primer not hard to prove. Gun malfunction where say the hammer of one barrel hasn’t cocked but does next time...

    Pair Lost

It is in CPSA Booklet 5 general rules and regulations which applies to all disciplines,  page 19, 3. General rules Referee. So according to that the referee has to call it a loss regardless of discipline no caveats. However no targets are different and covered with the. NO TARGET 3.16 Please...

    Pair Lost

I have said this before on a topic, what happens if a ref has no licence and the ground doesn't have a section 11 exemption in force or you are unaware at the time if it does or not, is the ref an excluded person, has the ref signed the Section 11 exemption form at the club house. The rule...

    Pair Lost

The CPSA rule book is ambiguous at best on most things, but the gist of it is that if the shooter calls gun malfunction he or she is effectively asking for the pair again nothing established. If he or she opens the gun then in general rules the referee has to call target lost and being a simo...

    Barrels in your loft?

Like I said above the benefits are at the pattern plate. Convergent barrels are going to have the point of impact of both barrels closer together from 0 yards up to  double the distance of where the barrels converge over parallel barrels.   So a gun  setup for 40 yards will beat or equal a...

    Barrels in your loft?

Quite simply it’s for all those that spend hours at the pattern plate. If a parallel barrel shoots 2 cm apart regardless of range you are always 2 cm apart. If the same barrel is then set to converge at 40 yards then simplistically every 20 yards from your gun your POI from each barrel comes 1...

    Beretta DT10

Don’t let me put you off, my DT 10 is a keeper I love the gun to shoot which is the main thing. The ejector and top bolt were easy fixes, just pointing out that any gun might need new parts to keep it going regardless of make. The only thing that irks me is the coating on the action coming off...

    Beretta DT10

Just to add a bit of perspective. I know someone who had multiple failures with his Perrazzi triggers and double discharges, when the stock snapped he couldn't wait to get rid of his for a Krieghoff after he sourced and paid for a new stock. I know someone who had issues with his Krieghoff...

Just to confuse you more the next new thing is the Perazzi High Tec which has a divergent rib that starts at 7 mm and widens to 10 mm at the front of the barrel...
