    26” MK38? 😄

Think your Sunday is going badly? Look at my barrel..

Yes you may be right. I can state with complete and utter honesty the gun was cleaned the night before, and a gleaming pair of chokes added at the same time. Hence my confusion at the state of it above. Again no choke of mine has looked like that, even after 300+ through it over 2 days.

I’ll ask these questions tomorrow 👍 Yes first paragraph spot on Freddy. For those who were unable to view video above -

Think your Sunday is going badly? Look at my barrel..

No... the image is from Teague in their workshop (where they are inexplicably dirty) and the video is immediately prior to shipping. The point I was making is that the external knurling is clean in the video, and filthy in the image. How has that happened? Can only surmise it's been taken out...

Think your Sunday is going badly? Look at my barrel..

Video taken immediately prior to shipping - uploading for the purpose of proving even the knurling was clean. Compare with the report images. Not impressed unless I’m imagining that?

Think your Sunday is going badly? Look at my barrel..

No... hence my suspicion. Absolutely nothing like that nor has a choke of mine ever been. The choke went in the night prior with probably quarter pea size blue Teague grease. And as you say the relative cleanliness of the barrel doesn’t correlate either. 🤷🏻‍♂️ Edit - I wonder if I should ask...

Think your Sunday is going badly? Look at my barrel..

Yes exactly. Interesting point I hadn't considered that - that wasn't my assumption on why it was so dirty in the pictures.

Think your Sunday is going badly? Look at my barrel..

Yes agreed.  To answer your question I felt it best to investigate the route cause and possibly resolution dependent upon any agreed liability prior to submitting a claim on my insurance. Goes without saying that with any claim comes a likely hike in premium, not to mention a % gamble given the...

Think your Sunday is going badly? Look at my barrel..

All images as promised:  Again I simply cannot believe the filth on that choke - something is 100% not right there. That is impossible after 1.5 stands from clean and completely unheard of throughout my ownership. Hmm. Edit - I've just compared even the exposed knurled part of the choke with...

Think your Sunday is going badly? Look at my barrel..

It's not ideal. I do not want to be perceived as bad mouthing Teague precision - there's just no value in that.  What I will add however is my view of some of the additional comments in the report, namely:  A prelude in the doc referencing internal packaging of the gun (it was in an aluminium...

Think your Sunday is going badly? Look at my barrel..

Report received.  In summary - no conclusive view, bullet points options provided as opinion only. Some with commentary, others without. I'll now be looking into the insurance route. Likely to purchase another MK38 barrel/action set and bring my wood over but don't think I'll have it...

    Browning 525sl

Mate of mine has one in 30” - @b348xyx. I’ve shot it a number of times, decent weight (I like heavier guns) with the laminate and easy to configure in terms of length, cast and stock height. Good choice first or second gun.  Biggest peeve for me is the forend - It’s a personal thing I just...

Think your Sunday is going badly? Look at my barrel..

This is very true 😂 Update: request for address from Teague today for the purpose of delivering the report. To be expected on Tuesday I’m told. I think I’ll start looking into the insurance route..

Hi all, Just to add no further update, as we head into the weekend. I’ll be sure to update as soon as I know myself 👍

Very minor update, expect more tomorrow: Message from Ivan today, they have arranged an outside contractor to inspect the barrels tomorrow (Thursday).

Nothing yet - will update here when I hear anything. If you’re referring to what I think you are that’s lead protruding from the end following the blowout.

What are your initial thoughts?  Ultra XS is in the mix for me if my MK38 is a write off.

Think your Sunday is going badly? Look at my barrel..

Thanks for sharing your view. Yes, I am in agreement my experience with Teague precision (and my dealing with Nigel even prior to that) has all been very good - I would equally agree and hold the hope of a satisfactory resolution.  I am affording them every opportunity to resolve the problem...

Think your Sunday is going badly? Look at my barrel..

Mine was fixed choke bud (unless your question isn’t directed towards me). There is some belief that after markets chokes perform better than factory standard however. And then there is weight, and custom sizes etc.
