Think your Sunday is going badly? Look at my barrel..

Hope so mate. Thanks pal. Yes I’m more than meticulous shall we say 😄 — Update: There she goes, off to Teague where she’ll hopefully be fixed 🤞 - even if that does entail a multi limb transplant 🙈 (either that or returned with a ‘not us guv’ and back to the drawing board)

Think your Sunday is going badly? Look at my barrel..

Thank you for this post - you’ve raised some really good points and things for me to think about and discuss. I actually shoot top barrel first, contrary to the norm. This video shows they’re sitting flush with eachother I think:

Think your Sunday is going badly? Look at my barrel..

Update: Just had a call from Ivan at Teague. Initially putting it down to either damage to the choke (of which I don’t believe there has been any, i.e dropping it or something along those lines) or a small amount of movement of the choke. (Again I don’t think so as you can see from the pictures...

Not to my recollection no. And storage wise they stay in their box. I don’t believe it was damage inflicted to the choke.

Think your Sunday is going badly? Look at my barrel..

Not even a single mm bud, as evidenced in the pictures. Only went in last night after a clean and tightened in the car park just prior. Can’t get the choke out so sustained evidence 😄

I’ve no idea I’m afraid.    I had the same thought. I’ll see what Teague say tomorrow - Might end up buying an MK38 Sporter I really don’t know just yet.

I don’t know mate unable to remove the choke. I can definitely see your point. Hoping Teague have a solution 🤷🏻‍♂️

Usual Colin - GB velocity 28g 8s. Yep Paul, made for that gun i.e they bored the fixed choke barrel threading and supplied matched Teague chokes alongside. As opposed to off the shelf.

Think your Sunday is going badly? Look at my barrel..

My year old custom made Teague choke (Full) appears to have just failed in my MK38 and damaged the barrel. Oh joy!! On a serious note.. suggestions? Clearly this is at least a new barrel (and set of Teague chokes again) however unsure on the portability of barrels.

    Sporting Shoots 2020

First reg shoot today since March (yup, vulnerable group!). Only local, Horne. 84, was enough to be leading class when I left. Missed 7 or 8 through lack of movement/plan/method selection etc etc (put that down to lack of practice). Felt great to be out there though!

What did you do today that’s shooting related?

Jumped back into it after Covid lockdown today with Ben at EJs for a couple of hours. Surprisingly everything is still intact, no real issues other than some timing issues on very slow birds - rust in that respect. Methods otherwise where they were. Planning to get back onto the Reg scene...

What did you do today that’s shooting related?

Continuing to add CCL oil only mate - slowly to avoid overloading it. It’s already quite a bit dark than those pictures.  Shot today with it, feels like a completely different gun.

What did you do today that’s shooting related?

Finally decided to strip the varnish off and clean up my G1 MK38 - after just one coat of sanded in oil the difference is pretty impressive. Never done anything like this before and I’m no DIY’er but also took the opportunity to clean up some of the contouring on the grip and forend - new ISIS...

    mr winser

Sad to see this - I had a few lessons with Mark last year and he's a really nice guy. Very much into the body and it's mechanics so I can only assume this is something he'll go full throttle at in terms of an appropriate recovery plan. I've had several surgeries including a shoulder repair...

What did you do today that’s shooting related?

Another couple of hours with RF today at Owls - as usual time very well spent. The guy is ridiculous mind - at one point he wanted me to quicken the pace on attacking a particular SIM pair, and I just could not get the timing right. So, Richard (a left handed CG shooter) casually picks up my...

Out of curiosity why did you choose to work on maintained lead for longer crossers?

    Sporting Shoots 2020

With you mate. When I let go and shoot like practice - i.e care free I produce my best scores. Trying to be too careful, being scared to miss causes me TO MISS!!

Also court Farm. 85. Skipped Dartford this morning as got a bout of the old man flu. Dropped singles everywhere at CF unable to straight anything - shame lost class by 1 when I left.
