What did you do today that’s shooting related?

Had a couple hours with RF yesterday at Owls working through a few things.  When to apply certain hand speeds is really starting to come together now and allowing much greater consistency in some of the more extreme targets and also pairs where there is different speed and/or distance at play...

For sale: Beretta 694 (adj.) as new

Quite right!  I’ll be sticking with my Trap MK38 - though will be giving her a little TLC. Was saying to Will earlier,  plan is off to Philip Webster, make her look pretty with a satin oil strip and refinish (no more varnish!), get the trigger pull weight sorted and have it serviced whilst...

I’m 100% confident it will happen again in my case bud 😂

For sale: Beretta 694 (adj.) as new

Bought a 32” 694 adj few weeks ago spur of the moment, shot a couple boxes and decided (you can argue prematurely) that I just much prefer my MK38!  Oops. 3k mark. Some extras I bought. PM for further info.   Guntrader ad - https://tinyurl.com/yx5tun8e

God I know, saw that. After 1pm if at all for me. Good luck to Tony!

    Sporting Shoots 2020

I too shot EJC - disappointing 79 lots of individual errors. Not sure how I felt about the shoot - in truth, bit odd. As already stated loads of floppy shots and short window parallel pairs. Then the other extreme at the end of the course.  Ended up shooting it alone which never produces my...

What did you do today that’s shooting related?

Went out for lunch with the Mrs and came home with a Beretta 694. 🤣

The most surprising part from all of that is the fact you may ever be off centre mate 😂 In all seriousness though that’s very interesting, as we put the same carts through a 692 and DT11 and it was pretty consistent with what you’ve said above. But as I say the MK38 gave a nice, even pattern...

@Will Hewland when we ran through patterning at Owls the Velocity+ In 8s patterned far, far better than anything else through my MK38 that day. I use them for 95% targets.  Out of curiosity what did you pattern through? Cheers.

    694 demo locations?

For info if anybody else is looking, Andy at EJ has a 30” to try - premium dealer 👍

    694 demo locations?

By chance does anybody know which grounds in the South have 694 demos on site?    I’ve called a couple to no avail. Also spoke with GMK who said they’re deliberately holding off on sending them out en masse until after the February shooting show has passed. Not exactly ideal.

    Sporting Shoots 2020

Horne today - 83. It was very, well.... Horne like. Floppy, point at/minimal adjustment type shooting.  Great to shoot the course with @Will Hewland and @Argün Ismet Pire - definitely learned some things today.

    Full choke

I patterned my teagues fairly recently at OLSS, and it was rather interesting to say the least. My 5/8 (with velocity+ 28g 8s) consistently patterned tighter i.e. smaller spread but with holes all over the place compared to my full which held a marginally bigger spread with absolutely no holes. ...

    Trigger adjustment

Definitely forward judging by where you’ve indicated the pain. I’m also curious to know whether it’s finger pain or skin irritation i.e is the trigger sharp around the edge? I ask because my MK38 trigger needed a high grit sand because it was a little sharp - now it’s perfectly smooth and...

Sporting Shoots; where- and how was it? (2018)

Missed Owls today, instead some practice then a couple rounds of skeet. Had a bit of a falling out with some ***** who felt it was acceptable to continue to eject his shells over his shoulder directly onto the floor time and time again. I politely reminded the chap the bin was no more than a...

Sporting Shoots; where- and how was it? (2018)

I have a level of sympathy (I believe that’s one of the reasons why they close entries at 2pm) due to the fact it’s effectively a huge open field with stands all points outwards - Court Farm I’m referring to. The sun is going to get you at some point during the day. Unfortunately I had little...

Sporting Shoots; where- and how was it? (2018)

Just shot Horne - I shouldn’t have bothered due to the time. 7 stands in direct sun - I just threw the gun and hoped as just couldn’t see them. Lesson learned - go in the morning. And maybe but some 10ED. An embarrassing score, practically straighted all the other stands. Oh well purged from...

Sporting Shoots; where- and how was it? (2018)

My view: it was fairly far out, moving on an arc left to right coming from behind the trees. It was also angled away so it was gone in no time. I saw it hit twice (both JBD) from something like 8 shooters.  There was a very noticeable visual ‘delay’ between the shot and the break backing up the...

Sporting Shoots; where- and how was it? (2018)

80 for me at AGL. As the old saying goes could so easily have been more. Sloppy! Shot with @Spr1985 which was an absolute pleasure, also seeing a number of familiar faces. As I said to somebody earlier I might have done better throwing a stone at that stand 4 battue 🤷🏻‍♂️ 🙈 Still, very much...
