    BH Eye Dominance Rail

Hi all, Some of you might remember I said I'd do a quick write up of my initial experience with Ben Husthwaite's 'Eye D Rail" device after a couple of weeks use, and here it is. To be clear I'm not endorsing the product, this is simply my objective experience. Worth pointing out I had initial...

    Arthritis of the neck

Hey bud, Have you had confirmation of arthritis? The reason I ask is I thought I was developing the same thing after 5-6 months of neck pain, stiffness, cracking etc.  After seeing a chiropractor and having x-rays, he determined I was not on the rheumatologic spectrum at all (his initial...

    Ben Husthwaite open day @Kibworth

Couldn’t make this due to work, but have heard many good things from people who went. I’ve just ordered my rail (having tried one of the early prototypes) and look forward to getting it on the gun. I’ll do a full article/write up after a couple of weeks use for those who are interested.

Sporting Shoots; where- and how was it? (2018)

Assuming I had the time on that day I'd be quite happy to score @Steve Lovatt (I live locally so not a big deal assuming it can be shot at the end).

    Gatton Bottom Cancelled 16.06.19

Yes I’m heading to Dartford today. They’ve got the Kent sporting champs/Fathers Day 100 reg all rolled into one from what I’ve seen.  Expecting the worse with the traffic though!

Sporting Shoots; where- and how was it? (2018)

73 at Willinghurst - decent course, lots of testing targets (for somebody still inexperienced like me anyway!). Only issue was the last couple stands the young chap was having issues with clays running out, simo not working etc so ended up shooting some simo pairs as single target on reports for...

New ground , The Clay Shooting Company

Last time I shot it I used plastic. Also there are very few CPSA reg events where you cannot use plastic (health and safety/environmental impact on sites of specific interest) due to the CPSA rules: https://www.cpsa.co.uk/userfiles/files/53938_CPSA_Rule_Book_AW_2015_V2.pdf (pg 3, 1.1, D) Don’t...

SGC - Change of address (BASC vs Police view)

One week isn’t so bad.  What would you have done/said (or perhaps more pertinently what were you advised to do) in the event of being stopped by the police?

SGC - Change of address (BASC vs Police view)

Yes I’ve read that - they key point in there being the fact you can keep it until the FEO visit. I asked them about visiting to inspect the cabinet given it’s in a new property, and offered to exchange the certificate then - the chap said “don’t worry we won’t visit we trust you”. Thanks anyway.

SGC - Change of address (BASC vs Police view)

Hey guys, Have any of recently changed your SGC/EFP address under the Surrey/Sussex joint firearms unit?  I've recently purchased a house and submitted the change of address as per the guidelines - that was the easy part.  According to BASC (Here's a link to their...

I was directly behind you on #4 Sian could see you having a bit of trouble of with that. 83 great going though I’d have loved that score today 👍

Sporting Shoots; where- and how was it? (2018)

Horne for me, first shoot in B class hitting 76 with lots of silly singles dropped along the course.  The only bird I couldn’t find at all was the long right to left crosser on the first station - still 2 months off my 1 year first picking up a gun so progress is steady enough.

Sporting Shoots; where- and how was it? (2018)

73 at GB, first reg since March after house purchase. Predictably dropped silly things but happy enough after the long break. Look to build on it next weekend and I’m back with RF on 30th.

Removing varnish finish on MK38 for oil - advice

Funny enough I’ve spoken to Jason and it’ll be going to him shortly. I do still want to tackle a project so perhaps a throwaway stock for practice would make sense. Cheers 👍

Removing varnish finish on MK38 for oil - advice

Hi guys, I’d like to remove the varnish in place of an oil finish on my MK38. Is there any advice or a step by step available for somebody with zero experience working with wood. I’d like to do it myself as a bit of a project instead of sending it off.  Any help appreciated.  - this would...

    cost

Maybe this has already been covered before - but what would be the potential steps/blockers towards hiring some land, few traps and buying in some clays?  Cost aside, presumably the biggest concern would be as a landowner you'd probably not be happy with bits of clays/wads everywhere if it were...
