    only shoot 1/2 & 3/4

I really need a patch as well but like the full vision to assess the flight path so I squint my left eye before I take the shot. Probably not ideal but I suffer from mono vision rather than left eye dominance. On some shots I just shut my left eye. Following Ben's video I'm settling on shooting...

    only shoot 1/2 & 3/4

@donna Interesting comment on close targets. Thankfully close targets are not really an issue for me, I straighted a low very fast incoming overhead today which could only have been about 4 or 5 meters high and very close fast crossing rabbit which was about 10 meters away. My bogey targets...

    only shoot 1/2 & 3/4

Nope - definitely 1/2 and 3/4. Shot a round today with my trusted 1/4 & 1/4. They will be left in unless I encounter an very long range target.

    only shoot 1/2 & 3/4

Recently I have been advised by 2 instructors, a county shooter and a GB shooter that I should tighten up and just put in 1/2 & 3/4 for sporting clays as it really helps focus lets you judge how accurate you are. This rather than shooting say sk and 1/4 unless there is a very distant target...

Bend it or make it adjustable?

Update: Finally had a chance to get the adjustable comb fitted. I used Simon Willmore at Doverage who fitted a Graco adjustable comb and after a little fine adjustment I now have the stock fitting me properly. I posted the stock to him on Monday and it arrived back on Friday, excellent service.

Blued action vs Nitrided - Brownings

I see that on the Browning web site the B725 Black action has been Nitrided. Is this new and will it rub off like the blacking on a Black Edition I had. Which I guess was blued? Any info on this gratefully received

    Choke Grease

The manuals for my Browning and Miroku guns say just put a little oil on the choke threads. No grease mentioned. I do just that and clean the gun after shooting and pop out the chokes, wipe clean, oil, put back in. Never had a stuck choke to date

    Stock Damage Repair

A bit of clay has taken a chunk out of my comb. The hole is about 4mm round and 3-4mm deep. Can anyone advise the best way to fill the hole. Unfortunately it's not a dent/depression so filling I think is the only option. :( It's on a grade 5 Miroku stock. Thanks

    Fashionable skeet gun

I shoot skeet with my Browning B725 30" sporter, quite successfully. This article might be of interest https://www.shootinguk.co.uk/reviews/skeet-guns-eight-of-the-best/

    MK38 32" vs Ultra XS 30"

Looks don't break clays, gun fit does. Just my over simplified opinion, but can you shoot both first to see which fits you better?

    What did you do today?

Considered my last shoot and what I can do better at my next shoot - mainly getting better at hold and kill points and being consistent, oh, and keeping better focus on the clay. I'm sure the list could be a lot longer though ......... One thing I can't control is the ruddy wind blowing the...

Shooting glasses for spec wearers ?

Interesting thread. I wear daily varifocals but use bifocals for shooting and both work well. But I occasionally have a focus issue for mid range, 5-10 feet when wearing the bifocals and I was told that a tri-focal might help but I'm not sure whether they would impinge on distance or confuse the...

    Balance - preferences

There seems to be a lot of discussion about gun balance which made me wonder what people prefer, whether it is a discipline thing or just personal preference. I was wondering what people prefer and why?

Beretta wood - needs a feed

@westley - looking really good, worth the time investment. @Hermit - hmm, apart from rubbing it down with 00 I have only oiled it twice and it is much better, not had time for a full refurb but it is much better.

    Introduction and gun fit question

Just read this entire thread - knackered now..... I am no expert and just enjoy my shooting SC and skeet, but I couldn't believe what I was reading. So much vitriol at times. I know a few friends who have been to Ben for coaching and a couple more than once. All have nothing but positive...
