Hi,  I am getting increasing frustrated by my gun as my mount seems to be inconsistent and although I am told the gun fits by a respected dealer I am not so sure so I would like to remove doubt and get a 2nd opinion by a known expert. Anyone know of any said expert near East Sussex? Thanks

My local gunsmith recommended Phillips English Walnut Oil. I bought a 20yr old MK70 Grade 5 in excellent condition but the wood needed a bit of oil.  3 very thin coats later and it looks really good, the grain really attractive now.

Just shows how personal gun weight, feel and fit are to individuals. And that is why I listen and respect opinions but you have to test/try a gun yourself before committing. I also now shoot an MK38 and after a few rounds I am now at home with it.

My 20yr old MK70 stock lossened after a while and I took advice and de-greased the stock bold thread and at the end of the action and tightened it with Loctite 243 Blue which has stopped it from coming loose.  Loctite Blue can be easily undone with hand tools my local gunsmith advised. About 2k...

Update: I must admit I am impressed, my RFD shipped the gun to Browning on Tuesday and it arrived back this morning with a new G5 stock. The colour match is good, just a wee bit darker.   Very happy with that result. 🙂

A friend has one and shoots sporting very well and skeet with Cyl/Sk chokes.  Very nice handling gun. I think he bought extra chokes from Browning

and does the above also suggest that often you hear that 24g holds a better pattern than 28g and by that I guess that less pellets also mean less collisions and therefore less dispersion.......  ergo a tighter/neater pattern from the 24g?

My fairly new 725 blacking came off the action, I was unhappy with it, sent it back to Browning who re-blacked it under warranty with what looked like fence paint and so I traded it in for a Miroku MK38 G5.
