    Inaccurate score counts

I was wondering if anyone notices inaccurate score counts i.e. the scores published on the CPSA site are different to those on on our score cards? I have noticed a number of errors (five or six) in the past couple of years, there may have been more but I have only been taking photos of my cards...

Sporting shoots 2023. How was it?

I shot Hangman's stone on Sunday, I haven't been to one of Sean's shoots for a while and it showed, I dropped 7 over 8 stands which means most of the damage was done on the remaining 4 stands, dropped 4 on stand 7 (cant remember what it was) 3 on stand 10 (the far out teal) 5 on stand 12 (5...

    Noob Again - Lead

I tend to agree with most. As a general rule, I do swing through for skeet crossing type shots i.e. anything fast and close. Sustained lead for longer crossers, these days I do more sustained than anything, I'm usually well aware of how much lead in feet in front of the target I'm giving it. If...

    Passive ear plug query

I have had tinnitis caused by shooting without ear defenders around 50 years back, in the days when hairy chested men didn't trifle with such frippery. I now use Sportacs with simple foam ear plugs as well, however I can still feel the effects of shooting for days afterwards i.e. the tinnitis is...

    Oxford Gun Company Issue

sounds pretty unreasonable. They won't be getting any custom from my lads or myself.

Sporting shoots 2023. How was it?

looks like Barbury was popular today, I had the pleasure of shooting on the same squad as Donna (without the fish) so we met at last, also bumped into Will, it was like a Shoot clay forum outing. The weather got hotter as the day progressed and I found myself seeking out every spot of shade. The...

    budget starter gun

Will these old guns be OK for steel shot? sadly we have to think ahead. At least the ATA is future proofed

    budget starter gun

I had a play with an ATA Sporter a couple of weekends ago and it broke some clays quite convincingly. It fits like a Silver Pigeon to me, felt nice and tight, a couple of occasional shooter friends have them and no issues so far. Long term? who knows.

Sporting shoots 2023. How was it?

I did birds only but it was still £50 We heard that there was an issue on one of the stands (two incomers on report) maybe stand 6? the guy shooting was only one down, he was in the process of shooting when there was a radio exchange between the scorer and someone else. The shooter complained...

Sporting shoots 2023. How was it?

I shot the Bisley Reg sporting too and found it to be a shoot of two halves :) I dropped perhaps a couple up to the stand at the far end left (quartering away and quartering in) which was also OK, next stand is where it started to go wrong, it had a floaty right to left where I dropped all four...

    Dirty ends!

It's got to be right up there with the bore snake and the Jack pike three piece gun cleaning brush kit . . except it actually has a practical use

    Shooting glasses

They don't advertise them for some reason, I had to ask about them while I was in the Fleet branch. They had some plain Ultradrive lenses in a drawer so I could look through them down the high street, to assess the effect. I wasn't offered different shades (2-3 years ago)

    Shooting glasses

yes, if you order Safety Eyewear

    Shooting glasses

I took Will's advice a couple of years ago, I bought a pair of Ultradrive glasses after upgrading my normal specs. Specsaver allow another pair at half price so I got them for about £55 (frame and distance prescription,) not bad eh? I also use them for driving when conditions are bright although...

    Eye Dominance

That's an interesting question, but a bit like asking someone how much they earn

    Afternoon All.

I agree with Will, I'd buy the cheapest that's available to you, (24 or 28g) until you feel you are experienced enough to benefit from more upmarket ammo (which could take some time.)

Sporting shoots 2023. How was it?

Well I did the Barbury Sporting Team Selection shoot today, general shooters such as myself were welcome and there were also separate pay and play stands. I got stuck in and soon realised that I wasn't going to produce a personal best. Obviously the layout was designed to sort out the top...
