Weird, if you've got full membership it's fine to shoot anywhere and even if you go targets only they will record your score.

Sounds like you've gone for Clubman membership if you've designated a ground. Officially you can only shoot that ground targets only and your score will not be registered. In reality, all grounds allow targets only shooters that aren't CPSA members at all, so you should be OK.

Hodnet is 20 minutes up the road. If you arrange to go for your second fit on a Tuesday when they are open you can take the gun and test before finishing. They've also got a pattern plate you can shoot in the basement!

Shooting a mix of targets is good, but if you're struggling with 30 yard crossers, I wouldn't bother shooting any 70 yard crossers they've got until you've got the closer ones under your belt.
