    Recoil problem

Cheryl Hall is doing London based coaching now. Book her via her website https://www.cherylhall.co.uk/. Cheryl is a brilliant analyst of what you are doing wrong, both for fit and in the actual shooting. With me she pulled up that my gun was too heavy for me, giving me a very slow ponderous...

    Cartridge Storage

Point out to the lady that currently she is the biggest danger and make her attend the CPSA shotgun skills course. Then she will know all about safety. Send the children too.  There are more hair straightener injuries in UK homes each year than gun or cartridge injuries.

Charity request from you lovely folk...

Go on then. My supervisor who taught me to resolve trauma was a firefighter. You've hit me in the soft spot. Good work, Matt.

    Detail over Contrast…

Interesting. I love my polarised lenses. I did some testing with Ed and found that the shade was more important than the polarisation We had a polarised generic purple lens to test against my non-polarised personal purple shade and my polarised brown lenses. If I ever compete at trap I'm going...

Is your gun a tool or something you worry will get damaged?

I have two sxs guns. One is a respectable George Bate, the other is a 43EM Baikal. Guess which one I took to the posh shoot? Managed partridge, pheasant and duck though.

Is your gun a tool or something you worry will get damaged?

Guns are like cars, some people can keep them pristine without seeming to try, others try but manage to knock and ding at every opportunity. You can bet your bottom dollar I'm more worried about the Perazzi in the field than I am the cheap sxs, but not taking basic care is wasteful. And if you...

    CPSA Majors “Competition Only”

You are still incorrect that I have an opinion on it. I give up.

    CPSA Majors “Competition Only”

You're wrong. I've never entered the Essex Masters. I shot one major completion, once, and it wasn't that.  Thanks for checking my CPSA number on my profile. It's probably from when I was a clubman member. They changed it when I became a full member.  I am not wrong about the gambling. I was...

    CPSA Majors “Competition Only”

Thanks for the clarification, Phil. So you are indeed saying that people shouldn't criticise or comment the CPSA because it's good enough the CPSA exist. Or you may make an exception if those people have qualifications that are yet as unspecified. Do feel free to expand on who you feel that is...

    CPSA Majors “Competition Only”

Once again I ask Phil to clarify what he is saying and get more bluster in return. *Shakes head sadly* I am used to that now.  For an extension post, thanks to  @Freddypip

    CPSA Majors “Competition Only”

Don't be so rude. You're the one being obtuse. If you can't articulate your viewpoint so it can be understood, you might as well stop commenting.

    CPSA Majors “Competition Only”

I am still not sure what you mean, unless it's "Don't question, don't criticise".

    CPSA Majors “Competition Only”

    What does that mean?

    CPSA Majors “Competition Only”

The trouble with forced contributions to prizes is that under some ethical beliefs it's gambling, and some people believe gambling is wrong. Therefore it's wrong to exclude people from shooting because they won't gamble. There would be zero problem with setting the entry fee and setting the...

Fleece Waist Coats for Ladies with Recoil Pad - Help!

Numbers. No more than 6% of licence holders are female. So mass manufacture is less applicable.

    Tri guns

Lucy Cantwell at Oxford Shooting School said she could bring a try gun out to the range of choice if it were mid week. So that's helpful.

    Tri guns

    Quite the opposite actually 🙂

    Tri guns

That's the thing. I got my gun fit settled using one, jolly useful when in the right hands. I wish they'd publicize them more.

    Tri guns

Feels like it sometimes with you London centric chaps!  That might be appropriate if you were talking to a beginner or intermediate sporting gun. It doesn't apply when it's a seasoned competitor who has physically changed and is adjusting the gun to compensate.

    Tri guns

Thank you for a reply that I found rather squashing. Out here in the provinces such things are much rarer. One might as well travel to Doveridge as EJ Churchill, similar time and less London traffic. We obviously don't have what counts as a decent gun shop within an hour of where I live. I shall...
