    Disqualified

I was told (by a competition clay shooter) that in the past the CPSA refused to take testimony from witnesses and denied there was any case to answer because a CPSA official was not amongst the witnesses.  Interesting point: the person in question had Google results showing pages about him...

    Advice on coach

The ten thousand hours thing is rhubarb btw. No, I'm not a fan of Mr Gladwell. That number was an average of the number of hours elite performers spent practising. Quality of practice matters too.

    STARTING COMPETITION CLAY SHOOTING

Turn up, pay your entry fee, shoot the competition. You could book a place on a squadded shoot if you prefer that idea.

    Wrong Gun?

Similar experience, similar height, probably similar build. My 30" barrel Browning 425 was diagnosed as too front heavy for me. I had developed a terribly slow swing through style because of this. Maybe that's what they meant? Changed gun, shooting became a lot easier. I could finally do...

    Lewis system

It's a marvellous thing that is simply about the scores on the day. I don't know why people have such a problem with it when they are simultaneously moaning about sandbagging AND people going birds only. Does away with the status of earned letter classes and instead classes you against people of...

    Shooting without insurance

They don't for competition but do for practice. Caught me on the hop once. Luckily I was there for coaching.

Who is good enough to teach ?

If I can unlock that: I think what you are saying is that there are people out there who could teach reasonable shooters how to become shooting competitors, rather than just helping them improve at shooting practice clays. I would agree with that. I always say that Coach Solomon's taught me how...

Who is good enough to teach ?

"I think it's time we recognise that this segment of the market is underdeveloped" Could you clarify this bit please?  I'm interested, I've probably had coaching from more coaches than anyone else here, group and individual, and my progress to clays shot ratio is pretty good. I'm not very good...

    Choking for a newbie?

Well, a trap gun will be small - large in firing order because the clay is going further away. A game gun for driven will be the other way around as the bird is flying towards you. Skeet chokes are a pair because the clay's range is close and limited.

    Ground closed

As Lakenheath's transformation into Eriswell Lodge showed, change can be good.

    SIlver pigeon... how many types?!

White Onyx are nice. You don't pay extra for the pretty game scene. We have a 20G White Onyx. They are very good value.

Shooting reg cpsa for wheelchair shooter

Ah, are you sure you want my views, Joe? I'm hardly representative of the membership. I'm a 60% occasional sporting shot who shoots for enjoyment now and I am the Queen of Political Correctness. I think the colour of clays should be regulated because of colour blindness and Irlen Syndrome, but...

Shooting reg cpsa for wheelchair shooter

You know that what they say is that there needs to be "reasonable accommodation".

    Moulded ear plugs

I have Plugzz, they are as good as any and slightly cheaper than some other offerings if I remember correctly.  Whichever brand you choose, get two different colours. I have red for left and white for right. Well, sparkly pink and glittery clear but near enough 🙂

Shooting reg cpsa for wheelchair shooter

Eriswell Lodge is pretty good, especially when Phil Moss is setting the targets. I think he has posted here about having  a ref who shoots from a  chair. AGL are brilliant for accessibility, took my dad on a scooter all  around, but might have an alternative on one of the stands if they set a...

Skeet Vest WANTED. (not mesh type)

Are you sure you weren't in the ladies section?

    Tagging along with others

That's one of the advantages of a registered shoot. There's always a button pusher, even if they like to say things like "pair away" a lot 😄
