    Targets for New Shooters

Ah, I shot a lot of these in the early S&CBC days.  The hanging crow incomer is a good place to start.  Then a straight going away.  Then a crossing rabbit.  Next a crosser. Then a driven.  Six of each, thirty birds total. My best score was a 29. Never got a perfect 30.

    head position

Depends where everyone else is. What looks to you like a perfect crosser might be  the perfect driven to a gun further down the line (if the line curves a bit).

    Which Cartridge... ?

As the Queen of the 21g cartridge I loved Hull Comp X but the prices went silly so my last bulk buy was RCs. I can shoot an RC 24g without issue. Even their 28g pigeon load felt soft.

    stupid targets

I think it was unintentional. It did it quite a lot. Just a social shoot, but the rotters refused to let me have it as a no bird!

The lemming! A rat that drops off a cliff. The reversing rabbit got me.

    Hello from Cambridgeshire

You need @BTC3 for a mid week. I have a two year old so I go shooting when she is at nursery in Fridays.

    Hello from Cambridgeshire

Welcome, from another CGC member. You'll find me at Eriswell on a Friday, desperately practising for whatever county shoot is on that weekend.

    CPSA

It's usual practice. (A follow up call, not randomly calling others). Having let my membership lapse several times in recent years I have had three of these phone calls. It's a reasonable thing to do if you want to stop membership shrinkage.

    Prize money

Cambridge Gun Club published a list last year. I nudged someone I know through Facebook and they collected prize money from 2011!  Indefinitely I would have thought. Or some quite large cut off like three years.

    Clay Pigeon Shooting Association

I'll consider any name change proposal when it comes as a proper proposal, with aims, benefits, disadvantages and costs all laid out. Talking about it without any research is just people airing their opinions.  "bringing England into line with everyone else" is a valid reason if there is...

    Clay Pigeon Shooting Association

Noooo... The CPSA as a legal entity has assets and financial responsibilities. It would have to be utterly zero members to make that true. The responsibility of the directors is to the entity CPSA. They may feel that that is best served by making a huge profit. *Shrug* It's all down to what is...

    Clay Pigeon Shooting Association

That's not what the the directors sign up to though is it? They sign to do their best for CPSA the entity, not the members. Important difference.
