    Public apology

In the recently deleted "Anybody know how Tinker bell is doing?" thread I posted that if Tinkerbell had wanted to be effective in making changes at the CPSA she would not have stood against Michele Conway as a National Director but would have instead opposed a yes-man regional director last...

    Clay Pigeon Shooting Association

Fecking genius! I will now refer to them as "pitch target pitchers".

    Well done!

    Sporting Targets nr Riseley

Nice ground. Some days you can't move for Krieghoff toting champions. Lots of people miss the arm of stands on the edge of the ground, so look for those if you are doing sporting. The famous tower is great fun.

Any personal goals for the 2017 season?

This is the first year I don't have goals. I have to work out what I want, and there is no point wanting something I can't have due to lack of time or money. Maybe if I stay off the clays for long enough I can buy a dry fire system and practice as much as I like :-)

    Cheap and cheerful cartridges

Hull CompX 21g fibre. Break everything at a registered shoot.

    First gun

Buy a light 12G for Pauline, have it fitted and invest in a decent recoil pad, like an Izzard XPad, and shoot 21g cartridges.  Shoot 21g 12G cartridges for a couple of years and you can but a 20G with the money you have saved over shooting a 20G.

    Ground Questions

You don't mention Cambridge Gun Club. It's a very good ground now. £30/£35 for a 100 registered, card payments, there is a resident dog in the clubhouse but don't know if that means other dogs are allowed or not.

    CPSA Issue 51 Cut Offs

I am still bottom of the classes for everything. I have however got a classification for nearly everything.  I do enjoy those trap games. Even DTL is quite fun now I know how to do it.

News Monkey is a waste of space

This site is more specific, and that's no bad thing. Pigeon Watch is great but a very different atmosphere.

    help

How hard are the birds you are shooting at? How fast and how near?  Are you shooting gun up or down? Are you using solo delay?  Are you shooting singles, on report pairs or simultaneous pairs? All these things affect how many you will hit.

    British Shooting Talent Pathway

During the briefing they were very clear that age was no barrier to inclusion in the talent pathway.

    British Shooting Talent Pathway

I'm 40 as it happens. I look much older though :-) Katherine Bright (DTL champion) is on the pathway, but at a higher level than me. Quite right too. I know this because Kath was at the same search day I was on. Plus conversation after of course. This of course in no way has any bearing on the...

Not at all. I read your posts about your son, found it all very interesting. I found them very helpful in keeping perspective.

    Pure Gold Chokes

Pigeon Watch is good for this kind of thing. There are adverts that haven't been marked sold for Pure Gold chokes.

    Vision Express for sports vision

Consider this a public service announcement: Vision Express are likely to be sh*t and not know anything about shooting. My last eye test was three years ago. My last optometrist was sports vision specialist Ed Lyons. I can no longer swan off to Wolverhampton for a few hours so I needed...
