I don't know anything about competitions at Park Lodge, but as a venue its excellent. Although expensive it's rare to get a no bird, stands are accessible and well thought out. Facilities excellent and the staff very friendly. I occasionally shoot there mid week.

That's the problem Will, I'm in NW Sheffield, it can take me 40 minutes just to reach the M1.

Yes that's the way I was taught and in my time taught others. One of the reasons, also on patrol you can have the right flank with the gun pointing out to the right (correct direction) it can save a mili second which can be a life.

Just cartridges, search "Super steel" or go to 'shop', 'clays' then scroll till you find them. I thought for the price it's worth a try.

Have you tried loading  them into your gun and firing them? Browsing tinterweb yesterday I saw some pink ones, very pretty. Do pretty cartridges make you look better when you miss. Cos I want to look tough, do they do camo ones for when I  shoot in my string vest in the snow.  🙈🙉🙊
