Lead ban announcement for live quarry shooting

I don't always agree with your terminology yet on this I totally agree.

Lead ban announcement for live quarry shooting

Not wishing to argue over what I have absolutely no facts to quote. Really? I've been shooting since I was around 8 years old.  Spent near on 30 years as a front line soldier and shoot on average twice a week still. I have in my service been a skill at arms instructor and spent many range...

    Left handed confusion...

Slightly off topic, I taught my kids to shoot left handed as well as right should they ever need to. My Regiment insisted everyone could shoot both handed (rifle) prior to the introduction of the SA80 which ejects into your face fired left handed. It's a tactical thing for those wondering...

Pattern testing and related ballistic analysis if steel and other non-toxic alternatives

If it's any help to anyone, this a page from the manual that came with my MK38 sport. just as an edit mine is Invector plus, so I guess they will all be the same.

Pattern testing and related ballistic analysis if steel and other non-toxic alternatives

Thanks, I'm ok to shoot any steel as my gun has the fleur de lys stamped (2013 model) I use skeet and imp.cyl normally so will just use them. They are extended steel proofed  I'll stay clear of my SxSs for now as they are 3/4 and full fixed.

Pattern testing and related ballistic analysis if steel and other non-toxic alternatives

One day, maybe, just maybe I might understand one of your posts like this. I doubt it, but I hope so. You're obviously very well educated or clever or both. Me, sorry it's way over my head. Life and the Army provided me with my education. I mean absolutely no offence with that and I know you'll...

    Side by sides

We have a caravan, my wife is disabled. We do the same, look for fishing/shooting and book around that. Several booked already this year. I don't shoot competitively so I think it gives more options. We spend a lot of time in Norfolk and Lincolnshire because its flat🙄

One of mine, and also one of its last time out. Don't wait till you retire, do it now. You never know what's round the corner. I had a series land rover which I built from chassis up for my retirement. I had a stroke and now don't have the strength to drive it. Had to sell it. Broke my...

Lead ban announcement for live quarry shooting

It's not the point I was making, nevertheless I agree. I was just pointing out that in my opinion the alternatives even after 40 years aren't as good. If you're happy with the alternatives that's fine, 100s of 1000s are. We all have differences of opinion and I don't wish to enter into a off...

Lead ban announcement for live quarry shooting

40 plus years after the lead ban for angling there is no suitable alternatives just alternatives that we have to live with. For non anglers, shot in size 8 and smaller and over 1oz are not banned. Apparently lead in these sizes are no threat.

    Does it REALLY matter?

You're either on target or not, the best cartridge in the world can't break a clay if you don't hit it. My daughter shoots for fun (like me she's non competitive) a .410 single barrel and uses 9gram, breaks clays and has fun. It's all about what you enjoy and suits you. She fired a 12g SxS...

What did you do today that’s shooting related?

Shot at Sycamore, first to shoot as everyone else hiding in the cabin. So windy I had trouble standing and the clays where all over just like my barrels.  Had to call it a day as I couldn't feel my fingers.

    Premier league 2020

It always makes me smile when I see Nottingham as North, its Southern or Midlands at best. Orston, Doveridge 1 1/2 to 2 hours south. Plenty of folk north of me too!

    British Shooting Show 2020 interviews

£100 a thousand would be nice, but I did say "come down a £100 per thousand"😁 Currently priced way over 'most' people's budgets. Still a good idea though, but like most good ideas, it'll take time to mature and filter down to us mere mortals. Thank you to Lloyd for getting us talking about them.

    British Shooting Show 2020 interviews

Lots of money Lloyd, glad you could get a price from them.  Once they come down a £100 per thousand they'll be viable. Until then I'm afraid its filed under good ideas. Enjoyed your interviews, thanks.👍

    What Bore For Mature Beginner

I have mobility and balance problems, I also struggle to lift my left arm above shoulder height. Light guns wobble and for me are harder to use. I shoot a 12g, Miroku MK38 sport, 30" barrels. Heavy by any standards. I have more control and am therefore a safer and better shot. You must...
