    Gun reviews on youtube

I watched it last night,  so you bought one then. Says it all.

What did you do today that’s shooting related?

Wow, new technology for you. No grinding and shaping to fit. I wonder if that's what my grandkids will be doing for their grandkids instead of using hand tools? Way over my head I'm afraid but the possibilities are endless. New custom designed stock perhaps? Cut and ground an old BSA butt...

What did you do today that’s shooting related?

I finished the COOEY today and I'm happy with it. Taking it out tomorrow to put a range of different size cartridges through it. Not so much for pattern as it is what it is with fixed full choke. I need to know the recoil on each shot and what range I can reasonably expect to break clays for...

What did you do today that’s shooting related?

Old fashioned I am, basic tools, no fancy stuff for me😁🙈 Rubbed down stained  and varnished now, needs another rub and varnish to complete:

    Red shells or blue ones

Is this a colour thing? You'd best be careful, what about black, and white, and pink and green? They all have feelings too! And while we're on the subject are cartridges male and guns female?

    Plastic or Fibre Wad

You only live once Martyn, and I'm not planning on taking it with me. Both me and the Mrs have worked hard for the last 50 years, might as well enjoy it. Kids and grandchildren are settled (ish) and happy. If I don't spend my pension some new government schemes will only decide I need to...

    Plastic or Fibre Wad

My twopennorce for what it's worth: This is in answer to the OP, as I don't want to get involved in any arguments please. I'm no expert,  just a happy shooter that enjoys a day out midweek and a shoot with the grandkids at the weekend.  I use 21gram cos I like it and it's cheap. I use fibre...

    Plastic or Fibre Wad

I buy fibre only as that's all available in this area despite all the local grounds allowing plastic. My dealer has several slabs of 30 and 32g clear pigeon in plaswad he can't shift. He never buys in anything plastic anymore unless ordered and paid in advance. I pay £188 per 1000 or £47 a...

What did you do today that’s shooting related?

Today, I gave the metal parts a boil wash, followed by white spirit cleaning. They're now soaking in WD40 prior to being dried, oiled or greased as appropriate and reassembled.  The woodwork cutting and rubbing down is complete and the first coat of wood stain in place. A plate has been cut to...

    828U Sport...circa 10k carts later

I'm really surprised no one has answered your post. I hung off from making a suggestion this morning as I thought the more experienced shooters would have jumped in. I state clearly and upfront, I have no experience of your model of gun. It is though a common occurrence in many guns. Does it...

What did you do today that’s shooting related?

Today I finally started the strip down on the Cooey model 84 to began its restoration, shortening, rebuilding and fitting for my grandson. I roughly marked the butt for cutting before stripping down and thoroughly cleaning, checking and noting any worn parts. Ironed out any little dents before...

What did you do today that’s shooting related?

Today I bought a pack of mixed grade sandpaper to start preparing the woodwork on a Cooey 84 for my grandson. Every intention of a couple of hours work this afternoon. Unpacking my shopping bag the pack fell into the sink with the pots and got soaked.  That was enough for today,  I had a sleep...

    Fiocchi Litespeed 26g

I only shoot fibre because that's all my local dealers stock in anything under 28g. I'd need to travel a good hour or more to find plastic. Even the pay and play grounds I use sell only fibre but allow plastic. I usually use Llyalvale Express Superligt fibre, 7.5 x 21g. I pay £43 a slab...

    Trigger adjustment

I'll try that tomorrow, see if I can make it match😉 Well, the new trigger seems to have done the trick. Shot two 50 birders today and as I was on my own had to do the button pressing as well. I honestly never gave the trigger a second thought whilst using it as I had enough to think about. Soon...

    Trigger adjustment

Following a tip from Westley I rang a shop that has a tub of spare triggers. A new smooth narrow arrived today and I've just fitted it.  See how it goes tomorrow. If it's ok, I'll be trying to track down a silver coloured one🙄

How much? So you don't rate that 30 quid SxS then? Plenty of them going and they all break clays 😉
