Legal position on mixed serial numbers

Many thanks everybody.  Puts, my.... errr, my friend's, mind at rest. @Freddypip The gun at this end is a 20ga Silver Pigeon.  I don't suppose your barrel's serial number ends in ..602S or ..704S?  If so, could be we have two matching pairs between us.

Legal position on mixed serial numbers

Asking for a friend.... If a shotgun's barrels get mixed up during cleaning or whatever and no one notices, and ultimately one of the guns is sold; this leaves a gun with different serial numbers on the barrels and on the receiver.  The numbers on the receiver correspond to what is on the...

For sale Browning 525 Trap left hand multichoke

For sale, absolutely mint condition LH Browning 525 Trap multichoke with case etc.  Gun could pass for new condition. I bought it late last year along with a sporter,  thinking I was going to be shooting a lot of trap, but circumstances change and the sporter is enough for me.   Gun is in...

    What will you do ?

There is serious talk of the GB F1 grand prix happening this summer, with no crowd.  Even with a scaled back pit crew, that still means over 1000 people working in the pit lane with very little social distancing being possible.  Similar discussion is happening for football etc. How to legislate...

    B.H. and chokes.

1/4 and 1/2 with red cartridges, 3/8 and 5/8 with blue ones.  Unless you are shooting uphill, then all bets are off.

Sorry to Hear About Mr. Johnson

Agreed.  I am not a political person, and have no axe to grind against any particular party.  I am just frustrated at the dumbing down of everything, and the "sound bite being more important than the detail" world we are in.  Maybe it was always thus,  just me getting older. Cometh the hour...

Sorry to Hear About Mr. Johnson

I too hope for the best for Boris, and indeed everyone else. Personally, I believe Boris to be a completely self serving, but charismatic individual who I wouldn't trust to do my shopping.   But, when he is advised correctly, he has stood up and shown himself to be a great leader.  What we...

    Contact lenses and eye dominance

It will be a while before I can try this due to current circumstances.  I used to wear contacts all the time, but not for 10 years.  But never tried the near&far combination.  I feel a trip to spec savers coming on.

    Contact lenses and eye dominance

Hi all, I have heard, but never tried myself, that some people have one contact lens prescribed for distance, and the other prescribed for reading.  This allows the wearer to both see at all distances.  I believe the brain accepts that, and it is a good compromise for some.  (The brain doesn't...

    Adjustable comb

Spoke to one of the Italian coaches (Trap and Double Trap) and he was an advocate of the parallel comb.  Maybe oversimplification, but my take on what he said was if you move your head back and forward for any reason, a parallel comb keeps the same point of impact height wise.  Your eye does not...

Stock wanted 682, 525 or 725 condition not important

Maybe I am kidding myself, I was hoping for something around the £40 £50 mark, the ones there are either new or as new.  But thanks, I am ashamed to say I hadn't spotted them on the bay.  Will keep my eyes open and hope someone advertises a damaged one they have replaced with a new one.

    Gun help

On the second bit, yes, spot on.  Less weight means less pellets (of the same shot size) means more likely to be holes in the pattern that the odd clay will slip through.  But keep in mind, the big boys and girls at ISSF events (such as the Olympics) use 24 grams of lead quite effectively. The...

Stock wanted 682, 525 or 725 condition not important

Thanks for that, now registered and thinking about spending money on more stuff I don't need 😂😂😂 Will keep my eyes on it for some old wood coming up.

Stock wanted 682, 525 or 725 condition not important

Hi, Looking for an old stock to play with.  Ideally left handed, 725 sporter,  but any Browning 725 or 525 or Beretta 682 stock would be fine.  I am planning on carving and cutting, for a bit of lock down fun, so condition is not important.  It is not likely to be pretty when I've done with it 😂.

    What will you do ?

In the UK there seem to be so many numpties carrying on as almost normal, that sensible people can't do sensible things, and must be seen to be doing exactly what they are told to do. And most gun shops and shooting grounds are run by sensible people.   While it may be 100% safe to have a self...

    What will you do ?

"Football?  22 millionaires kicking a bag of wind round a field"  - a rough quote from Guy Martin. But I don't see why they are being singled out as bad guys?  If someone offered you or I a million quid to do something we enjoy, why not?  And plenty footballers give money away and do charitable...

    Gun help

If you can handle a gun just as comfortably left or right handed; and you have a left shoulder injury I would shoot right handed with a blinder on your left eye.  (You will find a blinder that lets light into your left eye is better than closing your left eye.  Try looking in a mirror and...

    Warts 'n' all

Awesome Centrepin.  I am in the South East, Leatherhead (J9 M25)to be precise.  But happy to travel to try this out.  Once this mess is over, I'd love to meet up and try it out.  My thoughts are that you would want immediate play back for it to be optimal.  Could see between shots where the...
