    Where do I start?

I did my first comp, a reg fitasc about 3 months after starting to shoot. I managed a whole 40 but I was as chuffed as punch about that. Yes take a couple of coaching sessions but the best way is to jump in ( like a cold swimming pool )  You don't need to be CPSA member to actually enter a...

That old Devil called 'Choke' again !

And you know they were telling the truth .... how :)   :)   :)   Honestly , while us plebs are fiddling about with chokes, cartridges, fancy sights, recoil absorbers and the relative benefits of oiled vs polyurethane stock coatings, the blokes with real talent are out there just breaking...

    Deliberate or a genuine mistake?

Took less than a week after I emailed the local mob.  There was no franking mark, no stamps..... Just an observation.

    Deliberate or a genuine mistake?

Got a card through the postbox. Outstanding postage on an item. Stopped in at the local post office to collect. £2.00 on a hand written brown buff envelope with a return post sticker of an anonymous post box. Slit the envelope open ....... my European firearms pass. Clever way for North Wales...

    Rewards?

As Jan said. Sponsorship is more about profile than scores. The sponsored shooter ( golfer, sailor, snowboarder, footballer .... whatever ) has to be trusted to be a genuine unsupervised public face for a company. Loosing a shoot won't get your sponsorship pulled but screw up publicly, even if...

Aren’t modern shooting grounds brilliant ?

Shortly we'll be adding voice trigger to even the 'dumb' remotes. Launch singles, pairs and even report pairs off a single 'Pull' call. ( That's the easy bit, coping with the blokes who call 'Uh' or similar is the challenge! :)  )

Browning on Can't Pay, We'll Take It Away...

Wonder if the blokes who took his guns (?) had SGCs?

Distance is listed on the output though

    First competition, CPSA registration etc

Shoot 08 is actually MSAccess based. I am reliably informed that Shoot19 is imminent.  Have been talking to the powers that be about some collaboration ....... don't hold out much hope though. Not quite but have been in 'the IT game' for about 40 years. ( A lot longer than it's been called IT )...

    First competition, CPSA registration etc

One wonders why when the membership has some great web proponents. The powers that be seem to have a knack for applying some of the worst development processes and implementing some awful UX techniques. People seem to have given up complaining about the search facility for shoot fixtures on the...

    fixed choked sporter ?

Buying a fixed choke gun is like buying a car with a 4 speed gearbox .... sure you can get 5's,6's, 7's and even 9's now but the original 4 speed E-type still did 150 mph with only 4 cogs. You just need to know how to drive. :)

    fixed choked sporter ?

Why not? Ever see GD twiddling with chokes?

    CPSA Cartridge Poll

Only if you put them in the bin after shooting and don't leave them lying around.

    More like within hours.

    Trap theft

The EU would appear to be the most obvious place but to be honest who knows! Promatic is active across the EU, Russia, China and we never see them. If a bunch of traps dissappears into some large farmland in Slolithuaviaeeceadonia who would ever know? Having suffered several thefts of stuff in...

    Trap theft

Steve Lovatt has been clobered .... AGAIN! his FB post . 23 traps is a very serious load. This is organised crime and not simply opportunistic.  Dumping the trailer and making off with the traps must have been planned. There's probably over 2 tonnes of kit!

    Rule1.16(c) letter

Raises an interesting point of procedure. At what point do you score a DNS ( did not shoot ) or a zero on a stand? As has been said if your gun breaks and you quit then surely you should get a DNS on the remaining targets. If you pull the trigger but don't break the clay for any reason or you...

Sporting Clays and Game - Tightening up ????

Shot my first 2 seasons with 3/4 and full.  My scores were better than they are now with 3/8 and 1/2 But I suspect choke is not whats making the difference!

    How common are cartridge failures??

4 years about 60000 carts, 6 different guns, 1 cartridge failure ......... so far
