    Winter Clay Shooting Attire

I just bought a long sleeved shooting jacket. Pretty simple, lightweight and waterproof but with shoulder pad and shell pockets. Grabbed it at North Wales Shooting school.  Used it for the first time last weekend at Fauxdegla on the sporting stands. top of a Welsh valley with a Northerly coming...

    20 years since I smashed a clay!!!!!!!!

If you are picking brains off your guns you are too close to the quarry and it's not considered sporting!

    What costs you targets?

Crap shells, wrong chokes, people talking, lousy old gun, near sighted refs who have no clue of the rules, loose shells in the cage from the last damned semi shooter, old prescription lenses and wrongly coloured clays for the presentation. Slow traps and soft resin in the clays. None of it is...

    2019 Rule changes

If the shells can be retrieved they must be placed in the bin. buy a magnetic stick if you must use a semi.

    1st gun

Good tictacks! Otherwise you are paying the taxman £500 let alone the ( albeit small ) markup.

Interesting article in Clay Shooting Magazine

And just how does that work with say, a left and right crosser?  All fine and well on the first target but the second completely defeats this 'process' apart from 'lock on to the target, move and pull away'. :)

    Chokes - Clay Beginner

Fit 1/2 and 1/2 or 1/2 and 3/8 ..... weld 'em in and worry about chokes when you are hitting 85 or 90 / 100 every time you shoot! :)

    Fibres or plastics?

There we are worrying about single use plastics when most of us pitch up to shoots in bloody great 4x4's and luxury saloons. :)   :)

    Hi from Gloucestershire

Best to just ask the ground you are shooting at if they allow home loads.

What did you do today that’s shooting related?

Oh, lots and lots! :) :) :)   3 years of graft and challenges and frustrations coming to fruition and things are starting to fall in to place! 2019 clay season is going to be interesting!

    All round

It's actually very simple! Jump on stand 1 shoot it and move right. End of.

    All round

I don't think that was the question!  The best I can see on the CPSA site is here https://www.cpsa.co.uk/disciplines/all-round/17 which states  As to the progress of Sporttrap shoots. Compact and other multistand type events have now been defined with an 'in line shooting' format where a...

What happens to the European Firearms Pass if there is no Brexit deal...

Sleazy jet is busy getting all of its pilots to transfer their licences to EASA ones based in Austria. Because ( as we all know ) bureaucracy means that you cant fly an aircraft without the right piece of paper. ( and das ist verbotten to hold a UK AND and Easa ticket at the same time because we...

What happens to the European Firearms Pass if there is no Brexit deal...

I quite agree but the attitude of some of the people at the top is pretty foul. To be expected I suppose, it's like a divorce and the 'innocent' partner is using every foul tactic in the book right now.

What happens to the European Firearms Pass if there is no Brexit deal...

Lets all apply to EU countries to go shoot over there after Easter next year! Flood their local authorities with applications and hopefully beat some sense into them!

What did you do today that’s shooting related?

Warmer climate / retirement / sod it the rat race has got to me.

What did you do today that’s shooting related?

Investigated 39 acres of land suitable for a clay shooting ground in the sunshine!

    Standards at shooting grounds

True. But a broken nose would ensure that at least one lout was never allowed near a shooting ground or even a shotgun again.

    Standards at shooting grounds

We see it happen and in true British style quietly ignore it until we are home and can have a bleat on the Internet.  Say something to the tw*t who won't pick up his spent cartridges or dumps boxes in the car park. Of course the abuse you'll get will make you a pariah at every shoot! :)  ...
