    What lubriacant for actions?

Pro Ferrum was recommended to me by my gunsmith, it is probably the best one I have used, and in the past 40+ years I have tried a few.

    Should I ?

Maybe that’s all down to how much margin they make on the CG brand  Much like the motor trade, they make money from selling units they aren’t overly concerned about value for money or reliability  Jonz

    Should I ?

Old gunsmith friend always said, “Beware of gun makers that offer after sales service, they do this because they know that you will have to use it when their guns fall apart” To a degree he’s correct. My two penny worth would be if you think you need a second gun then get a second hand version...

    mid bead

Have never been able to shoot well with a gun that has a mid bead, my eye keeps getting drawn to looking at it. So the only gun I had with one got removed fairly quickly.

FITASC - What would get you back / to try again

Don’t see any enjoyment in taking 8 hrs to shoot 100 clays regardless of what discipline it is. It would have to be done in a few hours to get my interest.

ESP Registered First target, double barrel option after "no bird"

First bird established is the answer, so regardless of what happens when you take the pair again, the first result stands. So in your case it’s lost and on the score card, just the report(2nd) target to count.

which chokes are you currently using in 2021 ?

Sporting DT10  Beretta chokes and anything from Skeet to 3/4 depending on the target. That’s the beauty of a multi choke gun you change them as necessary

    Prize money.

Won’t it just encourage the sandbaggers to get in a lower class to give them a better chance of winning? Get the classification system sorted first then this could be a good idea

CPSA British Open at EJC Swinton

Might be tempted, even if it is a 3.5 hour trip each way. Many years ago I worked just outside Rippon, great part of the country and from what I remember the beer was good as well 🍺👍

But this farmer left his gun in the truck ! And it was stolen between lunchtime on Thursday and 11:20am Friday so a very different scenario to yours

    Perazzi 2000/8 Problems

100mm ? Are you sure you can identify the centre of the pattern to within 100mm? Your using a shotgun not a rifle, 100 mm isn’t going to make you miss many clays

The EU to put 20% tax on Cartridges on this Monday 1st March 2021

As someone who worked for a shipping import and export company for many years, I can assure you that VAT isn’t charged by the exporter. When goods are submitted for customs clearance any duty that is due is added to the purchase value and then import VAT is added to that cost. The clearing agent...

The EU to put 20% tax on Cartridges on this Monday 1st March 2021

Think someone is pulling your leg, or trying to justify a money making scam, nothing on any EU tax websites to show an increase

Chokes - extended, ported or not?

Don’t see many sporting shooters do that, barrels would be full of mud!
  17. jonz

Chokes - extended, ported or not?

Everything from pulling the trigger to putting it back in a gun slip. extended chokes stops the carbon build up at end of barrel on the blueing, continually putting gun into gun slip also over time wears the blueing.

    Oh, how I wish...

Probably just as many legal residents of the UK that will refuse the vaccine. So I guess that we don’t worry about them, it shouldn’t have to much effect on those who have had the ***
  19. jonz

Chokes - extended, ported or not?

Extended yes, easier to change plus offers a little protection to the blueing on the barrels, ported chokes was a fad back in 90’s never saw any of the supposed benefits, downside is harder to clean and more noise if you shoot from inside cage with hard sides. Stick with Beretta chokes would be...

    Miroku v Guerini

Yes you are probably right regarding the second hand value. Also because CG is a fairly new company (early 2000’s) I guess it takes a while to get a good reputation. I believe the early guns did have lots of flaws, weak joints, lose ribs etc.. And once those stories start it must be impossible...
