Did you actually take the gun back to demonstrate the problem? That is not normal, and it's not acceptable. It may well be worth asking them to confirm that they are a genuine authorised dealer.

It's a manufacturing fault. It's part of a gun where accuracy may be compromised. It's a gun built for competition. Not at all silly to take it back. In fact it would be silly not to.

The whole CPSA web site is poor in my view. It gets easier with practice, but it's hardly intuitive. Looking for fixtures isn't easy, and the region/county borders become a bit of a pain. Perhaps if the site is ever redesigned it could incorporate a "within x miles" filter as found on so many...

Insured or not, no matter who may or not be fibbing, litigation should be a measure of last resort in rare and exceptional circumstances. It should not be a habit.
