    "Pair lost"?

What's the general feeling here about the ref calling out the score as in "Pair killed" or "Pair lost" as you shoot? Personally I like to hear what he or she thinks happened; sometimes because I know it was only a tiny chip, sometimes because I genuinely don't know if I missed the target. But...

    Blaser f3 stock weights

It sounds a bit light to me too. Is this a game version? Mine weighs pretty much the same as Will's, and I have the weights around 3/4 of the way aft. When your say the weights were not put back inside does this mean you still have them? Is it a Blaser stock that has a suitable tunnel?

"shell suited women and their several sprogs from several fathers  with a tv crew in tow types." Love it!

    Range Rover Velar

I'm a Land Rover fan, too. But I have to say that the attraction of the marque has waned recently as JLR seem to be heading away from their roots as purveyors of upmarket 4x4 vehicles towards the "Look at Me" sector of footballers' wives school run chariots.

    Webley and Scott 700.

Absolutely - buying a sporting gun unseen isn't the best way to go!

    Webley and Scott 700.

Perhaps if we have the Holt's Lot Number we can work from that? I have never owned one, but I have handles and shot a few. I keep being tempted at auctions, just like the OP. They were excellent boxlocks, and comprehensively outshine the AYA range which was much cheaper. Webley & Scott had...

Is it possible that the levy was for Championships, Schmokinn?

    hypothetical gun question

I can't help but think a Blaser F3 with a two pairs of barrels might just fit the bill... Naturally - before someone points it out - you would only take one pair out at a time.

    Purbeck esp AUGUST 30

I meant Sean Stacey.. Bill I rang Purbeck earlier in the week, the lady said she would "get onto it" and that was that so I rang the CPSA today. I spoke to a gentleman named Mark who looked at the entries in"Pull" and found no record of the event, he then looked at the backdated entries in...

    Purbeck esp AUGUST 30

Bill it was poorly attended, and there were some spectacularly low scores recorded. The winner is a good shot, he is a gentleman who managed 100 straight at a Registered FITASC last year at the same venue.

    Purbeck esp AUGUST 30

I shot this one, too. Badly I might add. I have been wondering what happened to the scores on the CPSA web site, eventually this afternoon I rang the CPSA to find out why they hadn't put the scores up. It turns out it was indeed not a registered shoot.

    Bogey Birds

For me its the 200 mile an hour bumble bee that my mates can see but which I still haven't. It lives at Purbeck and I have no idea if the so-and-sos have actually pushed the button or not.  You know the one, Schmokinn, you've actually watched me vainly peering out at the nothingness trying to...

    bloody distractions

I personally loathe unsolicited coaching. There are those who simply can't resist telling me where I'm going wrong, and do it ostentatiously. I genuinely don't know if they think they are doing me a favour or if they are doing it to irritate, either way I really wish they wouldn't. It's...

    A cautionary tale

I fear there may be more to this than meets the eye. A declaration that someone is drinking too much alcohol based on their being on a darts team is way too subjective.

    bloody distractions

A couple of weeks ago at Purbeck a light plane flew low, straining with a glider towed behind. That was a distraction, as was a biplane that flew over Three Lions last Sunday with a person standing on the upper wing. Down here in Dorset we don't just have wildlife distractions, we're high tech...

    Cerekoted barrels - thoughts please

I wouldn't buy a cerakoted gun. You have those comments above about the difficulty of patching up marks and scuff, but more importantly what sort of life did the gun have before someone felt the need to effectively paint it rather than have it blacked properly?
