having read the article above from alan rhone      i have been to orston using a pattern board at 20 meters  3/4 and full chokes   testing for point of impact   ( not patterns )   conclusion gun shoots where  looking      so sunday at east of england  acid test  no excuses  !!   👀

i used tru oil sparingly on a stock     it looked like a kid of 5 had painted it on    glorified varnish      but it could have been the pilot   but i would not use it again !!!   

that's probably why  i miss so many  !!🤣

i know many sporting shots like a shotgun set up with quite a high comb position   seeing lots of rib  !   but how do you know your set up is too high and your seeing too much rib ?  missing many clays might be a clue    😆  but how much rib you see is right ?   

well i shot about 75 clays today at orston with 3 mates    have to say the gold e was smooth to shoot  no recoil issues    we all shot pretty average  to be honest  , towards the end i was getting use to the new sight picture   seeing all the rib  , so jury out until Sunday east of England  100...

its the only way try them through you own  gun / choke combination !!   one mans meat is another mans poison  !!

i shot sporting targets 100 esp sunday   enjoyed it , found it steady for 6 stands then pretty tough for the other 6   i finished on 76  !!    111 shot it   only 2 on 90 top score i believe   👋

trap guns work well on sporting targets    ok we focus on the clay  but awareness of the bead / barrels  works well  in our peripheral  vision  , nothing wrong with fixed chokes either, bored out to your choice  ,   many sporting shooters set up their guns like trap guns anyway  .   

simon willmore gunsmith at doveridge  fits a complete adj comb raiser  up down  cast on cast off    last time i had one £250    cheaper than a new gun , and he dose a super job    !!
