I've changed to 24g and I cannot notice any difference in kills or recoil. I bought 2000 to try expecting to hate them, but so far so good in fact I bought 3500 more last Saturday.

East of England today a really good round I hit 81some nice longish crossers, a fast report pair of driven off the tower and some interesting SIM pairs. Well worth a visit if you haven't been.

I shot a pattern plate at 40 yards once and never again. How we manage to break clays at that distance and beyond I will never know.

A local ex world sporting champion uses 1/2 choke for everything never changes so I wouldn't worry about using more than 1/2.

There was nothing at Northampton Sunday that fibre and 3/8 choke wouldn't break. The longer targets were all showing some belly or dome.

If it was first time with a brand new gun it could be some of the protection grease is making the pins drag and light strike. Spray some cleaner down the firing pins and try it again.

East of England today. A great round but the weather was awful constant heavy rain. They are making good use of their new tower with clays off all four sides. Quite pleased with 82 scores are slowly creeping up.

I've had a very poor run of shooting in the 70s and a 60s last week at east of England. So an 80 at Northampton today in the constant rain and mist was quite good for me. Very good round.

I know it's all round and not sporting but young John Porter shot 149 ex 150 at eriswell yesterday that's world class shooting.
