    A question to ground owners

Talk about stirring things up Ian. Showing your age as well by the sound of it. 😂😂😂

Shoot difficulty. And the elephant in the room.

I rarely shoot sporting, but you are dead right about trap and skeet. I wonder if sporting targets could be standardised in some way? Or would that possibly detract from the apparent fun or variety of sporting? From what I’ve seen, course setters can do pretty much whatever they want, is that...

    The future is,

Well I find it rather ott to be honest. No history of mental illness or history of violence. Getting injured and not being able to work for a long time is enough to make anyone hacked off.  He’s a pretty normal guy in his late 50’s, a doctor of engineering actually, he builds satellites, so not...

    The future is,

He’s had to re apply for his ticket, but no guarantee he will get it apparently.

    The future is,

I had awful problems getting renewals etc, it’s a nightmare.  A mate of mine had his guns removed by plod!  Why? In a nutshell, he had a bad accident at work and couldn’t work for almost a year. So he was pretty hacked off obviously!  So when he came to renew, the quack said he’d been on...

    The future is,

Unfortunately the computer games are here to stay! I’ve taken my grandsons shooting, but it just didn’t do it for them.  Each to his own I guess!  As for the future of shooting in this country? Well I honestly believe we’ve already seen the best days, given the political climate as regards to...

    Trap guns

You know Charlie, there are probably as many theories on how high trap guns should shoot as there are trap shooters ! 😂

    Newcomers to our sport.

Well that’s an idea, I wonder how the experienced guys would react to it though.  Be nice if there could be whole squads of learners together I guess. But I doubt if there would be enough of them together at any one time.

    Kemen KM4

And at that price they must be in direct competition with Perazzi. Certainly Perazzi back up is excellent and always has been from my experience.

Nice guns but not exactly cheap Mike! They are going to need a lot of luck mate.

    Newcomers to our sport.

I can only speak as a trap shooter and in trap, whatever the discipline, there is never any coaching or helping going on when a squad is shooting. Once you are on that line you are expected to know what to do, nobody is going to help you. The ref most certainly won’t help you, except possibly in...

    Newcomers to our sport.

Perhaps the other thing a newbie should learn is the etiquette of the particular discipline to be shot. This can be taught of course, this can then be reinforced by practice and also watching some comps as a spectator.  It’s probably true that some etiquette comes under the heading of rules...

    Newcomers to our sport.

Well Wes, I can just about remember my first club comp. It was DTL at the club where I learned to shoot clays.  It was a very friendly affair, I knew a lot of the other competitors, I shot total crap, much like I do to this day! 😂 The club was not CPSA registered and there were no cash prizes...

How to identify old Rizzini o/u

Ok uneconomical to repair, fair enough. But!!!  Over the years I’ve known quite a few guys spend fortunes on old guns that are past economical repair, often just because they happen to like the gun or sometimes because it was inherited from a relative or a friend.  I’m not sure I can just look...

How to identify old Rizzini o/u

Yes there were several Rizzini gunmakers. I  don’t remember much about them to be honest. I do remember one of them made very cheap guns and their reputation was not too clever. But hopefully you have a good one. Good luck with it. 👍

    The steel thing

Yep, spot on! Where shall we go mate.We only need cheap beer and cheap women mate?  Go on organise a trip mate. I’m first on the list though 😂

    Cleaning Rod

You know Wes, I’ve lost count of how many wooden rods I’ve had over the years and yes the ferrules do always go loose! You would think by now they would have thought of some way of rectifying that problem.  I too have an aluminium rod, had it many years now, no idea what make it is, came from...
