    The steel thing

Well that’s interesting to know. Especially as we are being told that no more than half choke for standard steel or high performance steel, even in guns that have steel proof barrels.  We are also told that high performance steel shot should not be used in a gun that is not steel proof.  Which...

    The steel thing

We’re those White Gold, standard steel or high performance steel?

    The steel thing

As far as I’m aware 1370 bar is ok for high performance steel, it’s way higher than  nitro proof which I think is 930/940 bar?  As for the clamour for the jesters hat? The marketing guys are having are jumping on the bandwagon field day! 😂 You know, I felt sure we had a guy on here who lived...

    The steel thing

Has anyone here shot Steel shot at clays  in Europe or Scandinavia, in places where lead is already banned?  If so what is your impression of the steel loads? Were they high performance or standard steel?  What happened to all the guns in those countries that were only nitro proof? Were they...

    Not shooting

Fine, but how would you physically give them extra protection? I can’t see how it could be done without having coppers all over the place, which we know cannot happen.

    Not shooting

    Yep agreed! 👍

    Not shooting

I have no idea how to stop anyone from committing ****. The same goes for other serious crimes of course.  Men and women both get the same level of protection, I just fail to understand how a woman could get more/better protection.  As for Carrick? Well I guess the police need to look far more...

    Not shooting

Funny you should mention that mate. There has been a lot of stuff on tv about how women should have better protection when out alone. I was called a misogynist because I stated that better protection for women was rubbish.  As far as I’m concerned we ALL have a right to protection, women are...

    Not shooting

Ok, let me try to explain.  We seem to live in a time where everyone has to have a label, look at most government forms and you are asked things such as, are you black, white, gay, lesbian,  etc.  I just don’t see why this sort of thing is even necessary. I’m not into conspiracy theories, but...

    Not shooting

I’m now a pensioner, I’m a minority group?  Our sport has been railroaded by the pc brigade.  Sorry but this will sound bad to many people. I’ve been a shooter since I was 9, so were looking at over 60 years. We are all being shafted, not just clay shooters, all shooters.    Yeah I’m...

    Not shooting

Please can someone enlighten me?  WTF is misogyny? Yeah I know the dictionary variant, it’s yet another label.  It does seem like almost everyone gets labelled in some way or another. As an oldie, I’m kinda pissed off with labels now.  I’ve no idea where to post this, so I’m sorry if it ends...

    Not shooting

Please can someone enlighten me?  WTF is misogyny? Yeah I know the dictionary variant, but does this mean what? We can’t express our personal views?  As an oldie, I’m kinda pissed off with labels now.  I’ve no idea where to post this, so I’m sorry if it ends up in the wrong place. Am I the...

Semi auto, love em / hate em.

Yep, I’ve seen similar things too.

    Another old chestnut!

Indeed, I’m no longer a cpsa member and I was wondering why they hadn’t apparently conducted a proper vote on the subject.

Semi auto, love em / hate em.

Well each to his own. As a trap shooter I won’t shoot anywhere near someone with an auto.  It wouldn’t be so bad if the spent shells weren’t spat out all over the place, someone once told me that there was some sort of shell catcher made for autos, probably in America. Such a device would seem...

Semi auto, love em / hate em.

I agree, every time I ever shot one, all that mechanical movement was a bit of a pain. I had the same issue with a semi auto rifle too.

    Been away..................................quite a while.

Some guns do stay tight for a long time. I once had an old Miroku 3800, 23 years old when I sold it and almost as tight as when it was new and it had been used a lot. My current mk38 is still reasonably tight, well it’s not loose, it’s had a lot of use and is now 28 years old.  Winchesters like...

    Been away..................................quite a while.

I can’t comment on CG , never owned one, but DT10 and DT11 I have owned. The DT10 I had for several years, no problems and a great gun to shoot.  The DT11 I had only a few months, nice to shoot but I was never happy with how it patterned. No matter what shells I tried the patterns we way too...
