Back to earth with a bump

Will, yet more great, sensible advice - this place is great! However, my red mist will beat your analytical common sense any day of the week. Or at least on Thursdays in early October

Back to earth with a bump

Thanks for the moral support, guys and gals! Didn't have much time today, but I have a free pass tomorrow, if it's dry I might head up for another go. Rosso, I like your suggestion of trying something different, I guess it serves to reset quite nicely, and break up whatever I was doing so wrong...

Back to earth with a bump

Finners, give it more lead you say? But I did! Best part of 75 cartridges, that's about 2kg of lead, how much more?? I'll grab my coat...

Back to earth with a bump

Not shooting related, I'm afraid. I confess to being something of a foodie. Chow.com/videos look for "You're doing it all wrong"

Back to earth with a bump

Tim, great advice, thanks. I did think along those lines, I've used it before in other sports, and no doubt it works. But today the red mist descended. I mean, how dare that little inanimate disk mock me by dodging the curtain of lead that I sent in its general direction? Think I might give it...

Back to earth with a bump

Hamster, there's a website I like that has a section of "you're doing it all wrong" videos, so you're quite right. In fact, as the guys in the shop talked me away from the ledge, sorry, credit card machine, they offered to help out, so I'll be going back for a lesson. Probably time for one anyway.

Back to earth with a bump

Work was a bit slow today, so I thought I'd go shooting. Went up to CGC and thought I'd go for one round of DTL to warm up (plus it's easy on your own) as it's been a couple of weeks since I last went shooting. For giggles, I thought I'd limit myself to 25 cartridges. Hit 24 of 25, missing only...

    Shooting Spain

I grew up in Spain, and indeed the police there are a mixed bunch. The Policia Municipal (the local town cops) are generally pleasant, while the Guardia Civil are hardcore; generally speaking, if you didn't want 7 shades of sh!t beaten out of you, you did as you were told, were polite, and moved...

    Shooting car

No idea just how good it is for the overall fuel consumption, but according to the blurb that came with my car, where it is also standard kit, the decision to turn the engine off or not is based on a multitude of parameters. In use, I've noticed there is no direct correlation between it kicking...

    Shooting car

Allport, You might struggle in a 1 series unless the gun's taken down, or it's sub 30". I have a 6er and my gun only just fits into the boot diagonally. No issue across the back seat, or with a 28" barrel though. You shoot at Cambridge Gun Club at all? I'm down the road in Royston...

    World FITASC 2015

Rob, and others, I can't guarantee it'll work every time, but if you're looking for tickets from the UK to the US (or anywhere else long haul for that matter) in premium cabins, and have some time when you travel, have a look at booking from mainland Europe, e.g. Frankfurt, Amsterdam, Lisbon...

Bomb shelters with partitions, can't beat them!

    Bulk Buying cartridges

I'm fortunate enough to have quite a lot of secure storage space. When the FEO came to interview me he indicated there was no real limit to how many guns or ammo I could store, it was more a case of available capacity. By the estimate we made, there's room for a few hundred slabs and, depending...

    Miroku barrels, interchangeable?

Haven't asked the smith yet. Well, just did, they sold yesterday, and he reckons they probably wouldn't have fitted anyway. Thanks for the advice!

    Miroku barrels, interchangeable?

That's just it, local 'smith has some 30" from an 800SW.  From the image I could see the ejectors, etc. look the same as on my barrels, so I thought I might be able to have my cake and eat it...
