    Chokes for sporting

Can’t go far wrong with 3/8 in both barrels. I can kill most stuff with them…when I point the gun in the right direction.

    Gloucestershire suspend all certificate applications

When you consider how lethal a vehicle can be in the wrong hands, the renewal of a licence is remarkably lacking in any real scrutiny.

Hull Sporting 100, 7.5 Fibres - Confetti Throwers

I’m finding that with Hull Superfast. A lot of airborne litter. Going back to Fiocchi as soon as these are gone.

    Ear defenders

Bought these for the button girl (wife) and they are excellent at the price. To be honest, they are excellent at twice the price.

Would you try shooting from your other shoulder?

If a right handed shooter, using a gun that’s cast on to suit them, can switch it to the left shoulder and “it wouldn’t matter”. Why would anyone bother having a gun fitted? I’m not trying to be awkward Ben, I just want to understand.

Would you try shooting from your other shoulder?

My comment related to the person who suggested switching shoulders depending whether the clay was l to r, or r to l. Probably achievable if the gun had a neutral stock, less so if it was significantly cast on or off.

Would you try shooting from your other shoulder?

Depends how heavily cast your stock is.

Shotgun licence grant waiting times - Avon & Somerset

I applied 2nd of January 22 and was told to expect an 18 month wait. I received it in late September 22. Better than expected, but still too long. P.S. This was Avon and Somerset.

    orston sold under new management

I dream of 24p a clay. I recently checked half a dozen places in the South West and it ranges between 35p and 45p a clay. If anyone knows of anywhere decent that costs less, I’d be keen to know.

    Me too.

    Shooting vest recommendation

I don’t like mesh either, so I went with Blaser. Really good, now I need to save for one of their guns.

    LH Eye Dominance

I am right handed but very left eye dominant. I tried shooting left handed, with a neutral cast gun, and immediately improved my scores. I have since bought a left hand gun, had it fitted, and am now as comfortable shooting left handed as I was right handed. It doesn't take long to get used...

Beretta wood - needs a feed

Thanks Luke. Should I sand it before I start?

Beretta wood - needs a feed

I have a SP III which appears to have a matte lacquer finish. Frankly it looks a bit dull. Is there anything I can do to improve the finish?

    Introduction and gun fit question

I'm far from qualified to comment based on my level of skill but, surely gun, choke, cartridge and wind speed will affect lead. In particular, cartridge velocity.

    Oxford Gun Company Issue

I don’t know anything, so I’m saying nothing…apart from this.

    Oxford Gun Company Issue

Writes a post suggesting underhand behaviour, asks for private responses then goes silent. Mischief I think.
