... The one that fits you best... body and budget! I have my eye on upgrading to a 694 (currently have a nice 686E), but I can’t justify the cost at present... it won’t make me a better shot, and my current gun is perfectly fine in both fit and feel. But I’d really like one!

Definitely upgrade to the cushions... much more comfortable , and a better seal (especially if using with glasses). I use the fairly cheap Howard Leights electronic ones, which are greatly improved when switching out the foam cushions for aftermarket gel ones!

+ 1 for the Napier cleaner and method as Will describes. (VERY light oil... not spraying and dripping off!)

Even though I am ‘right and right’, I do squint my left as soon as I mount the gun, just to check my eye is centred down the rib. Think it has now become a habit from prior to getting a (fairly) consistent mount.

Never seen that sort of a set-up, but it looks great fun!

FWIW, and at my level, I could never justify the cost of Pilla etc. I have a pair of Browning shooting glasses (non prescription) with an amber lens that were bought for me. I find they give great definition in most weathers, fit ok with electronic ear muffs (quite thin arms), and cost about £40!

Recently took a friend of mine along to some sporting practice. He is right handed, and, before we set off, we soon established he is also left-eye dominant. The obvious short term answer, just so he could experience the pleasure of the sport, I told him to ‘shoulder the gun and close your left...
