    Member's shotgun manufacturers pie-chart!

It's a bit of a slow afternoon at work today so I went through Holianl's thread asking what shotgun people used and created a pie-chart. Obviously it's only the people who posted in that thread. I included multiple guns from the same member and anything with only one owner, went in to other. I...

    Some cleaning questions.

    1. How often do you remove the ejectors when cleaning after shooting? Every time, occasionally or never? After watching a youtube video, it seems a lot easier to remove them than I thought. 2. Should I be removing my chokes to clean separately? I understand you shouldn't clean the barrels...

Recommend me some Wellington Boots for shooting

Anything from http://www.muckbootcompany.co.uk/ - you can find them cheaper elsewhere but they are brilliant. I have owned a few pairs of  wellies in my time, Aigle, Hunter, Le Chameau and I have to say The Muck Boot Comapny are the comfiest I've had. You can wear them all day long no problem...

What Gun and Cartridge do you use

Beretta 690 30" Sporter. I've been using Hull Comp X 28g 7.5. Not that I have much to compare them to but I really like them and they kick less than a 24g Fiocchi that I started off with. I'm surprised with how mucky the barrels get but again, nothing to compare to.

Wanted: Miroku MK38 trap grade 5

I know how he feels, wanting to save money but if you want a specific gun in a specific spec "mint and unmarked" you just have to bite the bullet and buy new.

    Finally arrived !

I'll see what the high gun got when it's posted on their website but I can't imagine it was over 80 in the wind we had today.

    Finally arrived !

Where did you go, Mr bluecity? I think you're not too far away from me so if you want a shooting buddy at the weekend, send me a message. I also went on my first solo shoot this weekend but didn't do quite as well as you but I think it must have been windier where I am!!

Sporting shoots. Where - and how did it go?

Well the best I've done there is 68 under instruction so disappointing compared to that.  I certainly don't expect high gun and I know I have a lot to learn. I'm looking forward to the journey and can't wait til next weekend.

Sporting shoots. Where - and how did it go?

Throckmorton. My first proper shoot without an instructor, got a disappointing 52/100. Had a couple of 9's but also a 2. It was very windy though so I'll blame that! Took some advice from here and just turned up and asked to join a group.Got introduced to 3 older gentleman that were very...

    Clay pigeon venue's

What if you can have fun whilst trying to win? I'm only a novice but every lesson I had I wanted my instructor to treat my lesson as a 'normal round' and record my score. I was definitely having fun, but god damn it I wanted to beat everyone at the ground!

    Finally arrived !

Hi Mr Bluecity. Congrat's on the licence, you certainly got it a lot quicker than I did. I see you're thinking of going to Countryman of Derby. I was there last week to pickup my gun, it's a great shop but the guy who I dealt with said their prices were going up very soon. Their Cartridges...

    Cartridge companies

You could apply the same logic to just about any industry. A company wouldn't spend on advertising, promotion or sponsorship if it didn't deliver sales. Great in theory but would never work in practise. An existing manufacturer isn't going to suddenly stop doing what already works and a start-up...

    first gun

your first gun: G10 repeater  the year you bought it: 1995 the price you paid: £30 do you still have it: No. I took it to school for a textiles project, I made a concealed holster for it. Don't think you'd be allowed to do that today! It fired steel bb's .177 pellets and darts. I had it...

    Gun reviews on youtube

Fair play to you, there aren't enough English shotgun reviews on youtube. Like Battue says though, "erm" is very off putting and I couldn't finish watching. I'm sure you've already seen them but English Shooting and The Gun Shop are 2 good examples of amateur but well done youtube...

Shooting rabbits and foxes on my own property.

Thanks for that, Skeet.  You're right, safe and legal are two different things, I'm not sure why I put legal/safe as only I can judge if it safe to do so. 50ft is a very reasonable distance, I thought It would be more like 50 yards.

Shooting rabbits and foxes on my own property.

Thanks for the advice, Donna. Unfortunately I already know there is no way she'd get in to shooting, she gets upset when I shoot a rat! She once saved a drowning rat that had got it's self stuck in the horses water trough, even though she knew we'd had a big rat problem in the chicken coop and...

    Clay Cartridges??

I'm pretty new too but I learned quite quickly a simple question about if the sky is blue can quite quickly turn in to the Spanish Inquisition.  I'm not 100 percent but I think a lot of it is to be taken tongue in cheek. Either that or everybody hates everybody else.
