    Range bag recommendation

The Wild Hare Deluxe Tournament Bag is excellent and will carry 150 plus all your gear with plenty of room to spare. Unfortunately it's not cheap and can be hard to find if you're UK (having it sent from Amazon US seems the cheapest option). For a lot less money there's a very similar style bag...

    Competitions

I shoot at NDGC and Orston (I've visited Cocketts but haven't tried it yet), usually on my own but sometimes with my son. I'm in a similar boat to you, just started doing a few CPSA registered this year. Happy to buddy up for a practice round or enter a comp with you - message me if you're...

    Misfire

Sadly no, as I was just explaining elsewhere it came down to me being stupid and careless. I followed all the correct procedure and then cut up the cartridge; it's at that point I was stupid and decided to investigate if the primer cap was pierced (my firing pin is a little damaged), followed by...

    Misfire

Yikes! I fish as well so have had my fair share of hooks and baiting needles embedded where they shouldn't be, nothing as bad as your situation though :ROFLMAO:

    Misfire

I had misfire problems with Fiocchi in a 725. Details are posted elsewhere but a little work on the pins and swapping to Hull cured the problem. Yesterday I ran out of Hull and put some Fiocchi through - misfire. Anyway, the point of this post is to say that primers can do more than 'pop' so be...

    orston sold under new management

My favourite ground, extremely well maintained, lots of variety for sporting and enough stands that it's never really busy. It's a shame they've changed the registered events to Saturdays and squadded; given that the turnout seems to have halved I suspect they might revert to the old...

    Reasons for missing

Don't forget that they (and you) will likely have different chokes in the top and bottom barrels, so potentially a preference for one in addition to the reasons of the routine of breaking/loading. Doing it your way does spread the firing pin wear and tear though!

    Cabinet inspection ?

My FEO made a note of the cabinet capacity and suggested that the number of guns registered was monitored against this. Legal requirement or not it seems like a sensible approach to me. If correct then I suspect that your friend will get a call from an unhappy FEO if he registers a gun without...

    J&P Spring Kits - UK

Hi @westley, I'm in the midlands (Derby). Yes there was a good amount of junk which was surprising given the age and use of the gun. It was the sudden change from very occasional FTF to once every 10 or so cartridges that led me to believe the pin damage might be responsible. I do get a VERY...

    J&P Spring Kits - UK

Replying to myself as I couldn't figure out how to edit the post! So far, the steps below are working for me. These have been posted in the past but repeating here for the benefit of others. - Remove the firing pin and clean the pin bore (q-tip or pipe cleaner with some bore cleaner) to remove...

    J&P Spring Kits - UK

Yes I have, they were quick to respond but sadly as @Daz W says this seems to be a permanent policy for J&P. Fortunately my 'temporary fix' is holding out so I'll update the original post with details for others' benefit.

    Doveridge - new lyout

I don't think that many of them were particularly easy before :) Hopefully they gave the stands some TLC, some of the old cages looked a little worse for wear.

For Sale The only two books that explain lead.

No problem at all Peter and if I've misrepresented any aspects then feel free to correct me, it was some time ago that I read the books and I had to flick back through them to remind myself of the content (which is not a bad thing). It does feel (to me) that there are all the building blocks of...

For Sale The only two books that explain lead.

@bordergun As the owner of a few of your books, I'm happy to provide a full review Peter. Background Although I’d done some ‘small bore’ rifle shooting as a youngster, my journey into the world of clay shooting only began a year ago. My son (14 at the time) was expressing an interest in rifle...

    J&P Spring Kits - UK

It's a good shout but Brownells US won't ship them and Brownells UK don't stock them :-(

    J&P Spring Kits - UK

Unfortunately yes, they don't send outside of the US now.

    J&P Spring Kits - UK

Does anyone know of a UK distributer for the J&P Spring Kits? My 6 month old / c.2K cartridge ProSport started to occasionally light-strike on the bottom barrel. This become suddenly worse and on close inspection the lower pin is damaged. Although the gun is under warranty, there seems to be no...

    Vests and Insurance

When I first read this I thought that you meant the Beretta vest turned into mesh :ROFLMAO:
  19. D

    Shooting vest recommendation

I have the opposite problem, I find some too short so use a Seeland vest. Try Berretta, they seem a little shorter.

    New hopeful

I guess it depends on your FEO. Mine (Derbyshire) spoke to the referee before the interview.
